Knights Inn Somerset Motel - Page 1

I never thought I would be looking longingly at a Super 8 (located right across the street). We arrived on a Friday night at midnight (Jan. 18th), were quickly given a key, and got to the room just fine. We opened the door to find the room was the same temperature as the outside (the heater had been shut off). So I turned it on, and spent the next 2 and a half hours freezing as the "vintage" heater put out about as much heat as the power supply on my computer. When I went to check out the next day, I was asked if I had shut the heat off, to which I promptly replied no, the next guest will be miserable (received a disapproving cluck from the owner). Received no compensation or incentive to return ($50 a night is more than enough to expect heat at a bear minimum). When I woke in the morning, I saw light shining in from all four sides of the door (no wonder its cold, $2.99 at home depot could easily fix that problem). Sheets might have been clean, but the yellow stains were not indicative of that. Towels had someone else's hair all over them as well. This place actually gets zero stars from me, and I will never return.

I stayed here this past week for one night. I negotiated a relatively good rate. The room was very good (one double bed). Positives: Roomy, table and chairs, big fridge, microwave, hair drier, non-smelly air conditioner worked well. Negatives: bathroom sink looked worn; outside needed some paint; surprised by location of entrance. In summary, it was quiet, the bed was fine, the room smelled fine, the bath was more than sufficient, and the amenities were superb for the price.

All the Knights Inn hotels we have stayed at were well maintained. The employees were polite and they attempted to be very helpful.

The reservation information was confused. They upgraded my room to make it right.

It is a nice, inexpensive place to stay.
