I stayed at this dive, and then when i complained to Knights Inn corporate, they told me that the hotel is no longer part of their franchise and they couldn't help me. Funny, but it was listed on their website when I checked in, but after my complaint, mysteriously, the listing on knightsinn.com disappeared totally. Knights Inn is a cheap franchise and obviously if they let bad owners like the one in Colonie, NY in on their franchises, then it's not a hotel chain I'd stay at. Go to the Holiday Inn instead folks, you'll get treated better.
35 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for business
I was staying in Albany on a business trip, and was trying to be cost-efficient with a weekly rate. Well, this place is an absolute horrible dump. I have a list of nine complaints. No hotel stay should include nine complaints.
1. Wireless internet was advertised, but not found anywhere, so that disappointed me greatly, as I needed it for work purposes.
2. There was a dried dead cockroach on my shower curtain, and the bathroom was in a horrible state. The toilet seat was broken, the shower was disgusting, and the toilet broke during the week and wouldn't stop running.
3. There were multiple leaks in the room. The excuse I was given was that they had roofers out there recently and they didn't do the job right. No one attempted to come out and fix the problem at all. All that happened was that I was given some dirty buckets to put under the leaks in the room. The curtains got soaked by the leak also, but no one bothered doing anything about it.
4. There was no toilet paper, radio/clock, or garbage baskets when I arrived. The room was dirty and hadn't been cleaned in years it looked like. I actually took the expense of buying stuff to clean the room out of my own pocket. I was given a garbage basket when I asked, but it looked like someone used it to drain hamburger grease into it, because it was beyond dirty.
5. There was a wet musty stinky chair in the room that had just got rained on. I asked someone to remove it and get me another one, but no one ever did. I ended up dumping the chair out the front door.
6. The towels and washcloths(if you want to call them that) that i received were ripped and scratchy. Certainly looked more like rags.
7. Housekeeping...hahh what a joke. This place didn't even have a maid. Just some toothless woman who looked like she stepped out of a trailer park working there.I was told to just dump dirty towels outside my room and they'd be replaced. They never were, so I ended up buying a towel at Walmart to use instead. I was also told if I wanted to vacuum the room, I'd have to do it myself and sign the vacuum out. Hell, I'm paying to stay here and I have to do the workers' jobs too now? What the hell kind of place is this?
8. There was no hot water today when I went to take a shower. That's inexcuseable. When I called the front desk to complain the guy just said he'd "pass along my message." which meant nothing was going to happen.
9. If you're on a business trip and need to hang your clothes somewhere, well be prepared to hang them on some ugly screws sticking out of the wall since that's what the establishment had. No closets like every other hotel has.
10. There was smeared feces on the walls in the room in several places. Well, what do you expect, this place is a shithole.
Overall, I have had stayed at some other Knights Inns such as one in Little Falls, NY and one out in Council Bluffs, IA and both of those stays had been pleasant and met my approval. This stay however, was a nightmare and I am actually leaving early because it's that horrible. The Knights Inn franchise should make this place drop their name, because it gives them a bad reputation, when really most of the Knights Inns are good.
First off there was no game room or continental breakfast available and the pool was closed on one of the hottest weekends of the summer. The first room that we checked into the toilet did not work, there were no towels or toilet paper and the counter was falling off the wall. The second room that we switched to smelled, did not have a microwave, had a drippy airconditioner, the door looked as though it had been busted in at one time, the chair was broken, the sink drained into a bucket as the pipes were not hooked up and we did not have any hot water. This place was very run down and we did not even get maid service, there was no phone or clock. I was very diappointed in this hotel and will never stay there again and probably will not stay at any of this chain of hotesl. Pay more money and go somewhere nicer as this place is really bad.

I booked this hotel on Travelocity and was very disappointed. When I got there the police were already there due to the complaints of a customer who claimed the roof was leaking water into her room. The police confirmed that she was correct and required the front desk to give her a new room. My experience wasn't much better. When they assigned me a room I went there to find that the maid hadn't cleaned it from the last guest. The beds were not made, the sheets were on the floor, trash everywhere. I went back and complained. While I waited for them to clean my room another guest checking in came back to say that the room they assigned him had people in it. The front desk clerk gave him another room only to find people staying in that room too. The guy eventually demanded his money back. When my room was finally ready I got there to find the shelf broken, no phone, no microwave, the air conditioner broken, the halls musty-smelling, the trashcans in the hall overflowing with trash, and get this ... the maid returned to tell me to use the bed on the left because the one on the right collects puddles of water when it rains!! If Albany wasn't overbooked due to many events this time of year I would have left right then. The pool was also closed and although they claimed to have wireless connection in the front lobby there was none. This is a dump, and the owners are slumlords. The motel now goes by the name Knights Inn, but my Travelocity paperwork had it listed as Regency Inn. Stay far away from either....

The location was very convenient. The cost was reasonable but the comfort could use some upgrading. Make sure you are very specific in what you are looking for.
I just seemed safe. The employees seemed to be paying attention to what was going on.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Knights Inn Albany Airport.
I would not recommend it to friends.
