My family was returning home for my Uncle's memorial and this was the closest motel to Tyrone. Their web site specializes in false advertising. There is a pool, however, NO WATER. My room did not have a phone, alarm clock, refrigerator, head board on the bed. The bathroom mirror lights had no covers, was rusted and had only one small flourescent bulb. The ceiling was rusted. But put all that aside.
The smell in the room was awful. It was some kind of chemical smell. I left the window open, fan running. Didn't help. That night, I was horribly sick. Threw up all night. When the rest of my family came, they were put on the other side of the motel. I asked to move by them, especially due to the smell. Was told that it wasn't possible. So didn't make a fuss. That night, my son came in, said the smell was horrible and no way was I staying (this was 11:30 at night). Went to the desk and demanded I be moved. They did so, but charged me an additional $30. Also, went and told someone in the back that it was due to " the chemical smell." We couldn't believe it.
I just feel that when you are traveling, you should be able to believe what is advertised on a web site. The claims that were made on motel's were not true. I have contacted Knights Inn so they can be made aware of how we were handled by this motel. Hope they will do something about this.
