It was great for kids of all ages. It was a busy place but you are going to a resort it is going to be busy. Everyone was nice and we had just a wonderful time. I can't wait to go back.
Resort was nice enough but customer service has been a nightmare. We booked a package and upon arrival were told we only booked a room. The clerk was rude and condescending and we were denied the package which included dinner and several other items. Upon returning home, I found the PDF that verified that we had indeed paid for and should have received the package. I have e-mailed and telephoned repeatedly (and politely) and have yet to have anyone resond. We also discovered we were charged for the second night twice (my credit car then my husband's) and despite providing written proof - no one has yet to respond.
What they are doing is not just poor customer service it is unethical and illegal.

This place is a joke. My family and I stayed here March of this year. The check-in is a nightmare. Good luck finding a cart to take to your room. Once we got to our room it was dirty, the coffee pot was disgusting and the hallways throughtout the facility were littered with trash, food, and cigarette butts. This place is also dangerous. We saw numerous people slipping and falling not only in the waterpark but also on the first floor where you check in. The worst part of the visit was that my child was injured while walking get on a slide, he received 15 stiches in his forehead at a nearby hospital. The "paramedics" from the waterpark wrapped his head gave us a map quest and sent us on the way to the hospital. They did not even walk us to the front door to make sure my son was o.k. We literally had to push through people to make our way out of the waterpark to get my son to the hospital. The waterpark never contacted us during our stay or even the week after our stay to do a follow-up. I had to contact the manager and he kept pushing me off on other people. They stated that they would pay my sons medical bills and give us a free night stay, none of which ever came true. We were given the run around by literally 10 different people. (I have e-mails to prove it.) We were finally told by "upper management" that they cannot pay our medical bills or give us anything us because it deems them liable. When I asked why we were promised this through the G.M. and numerous other supervisors she stated that they should not have said this.
This whole situation took 2 months!! The customer service here is plain awful and we will NEVER return.

I attended Kalahari along with six other young women. During our stay, right before we left a woman came into the women's locker room and accused us of stealing her key. From there it escalated into her taunting us and swearing at us. The final straw was when she grabbed a fourteen year old's face and threw her into a locker. I went out and requested security, no one came. Then I walk back in and as we leave we request security again. It took security fifteen minutes to come to the "rescue". Oh and then the rescue was so lacking that they told us that they do not make a report of anything like this. And sorry to report but this is not the first time someone has been assaulted.
I am not likely
to return to the Kalahari Resorts - Ohio.
I would not recommend it to friends.

The check-in process as others have mentioned is chaotic. The lobby has way too much squeezed into a limited space. The resort is supposed to be family friendly. I suppose those families don't travel with strollers. Stairs are everywhere including the main boardwalk from parking to the resort and from the lobby down to the water park. Way to many older kids (10-12 yr. olds) playing in the tiny tot area running around our 21 month old daughters. Lifeguards said nothing to them. I will say that overall, the staff was courteous and polite. The room was alright. One bed was comfortable the other was worn out and shaped like a bowl. One outlet had a broken plastic cover and the bathroom was missing toilet paper.

Kids loved this place, mom did not love the check in/out chaos. Also, what exactly do they put into a large pizza that makes it cost $30.99? Or a soft pretzel for $4?? Bring your own snacks and pop, also cereal and bowls. Rooms are lovely. A new system for locating innertubes needs to be in place, nearly impossible.

We stayed at kalahari on May 4, 5 and 6. The place is wonderful. Great atmosphere. love the decors. very delicious foods! Reasonable prices on the foods.
What I don't like was, check-in was terrible! You can use the water park as early as 12nn but you can't go to your room until 4pm! Although they have a concierge desk wherein you can leave your stuff while you are at the water park. Check out was easy though. You can check out using their TV or you can just sign the quick check out that they leave on your door on your last day and drop it at any check out box.
The water park is huge. Love the place. Although the water is a bit cold though. I have an 11 month old and she spent less than an hour in the water and her teeth was already chattering from the cold water. Sad. Since it cuts our pool time to an hour max! The hotel is a bit cold also. I agree with the others in stating that they should make the place a bit warmer since people are running around in their bikinis. I was always wearing a thick robe or a jacket walking through the place.
Now in regards to their room. Rooms are very nice. Very nice and comfy beds also. but the housekeeping forgot to clean the coffee machine. :(
They have fridge in the room so you can bring your own drinks. Unless you don't mind paying $2.50/soda in their vending machines.
Now, back to the restaurants.. all restaurants have delicious foods! we tried them all. :) But I was disappointed with the waiters.. the website says that they have dancing waitresses and the bar attendants are juggling bottles.. I didn't see any of those at all. But I did see a bar tender juggling bottles at the water park bar. but not at their restaurants. But since the foods at the restaurants are very good and reasonably priced, thats fine with me.

There are so many things wrong with this resort.
- Check in process was ridiculous. Took over 1 hour and had to search hotel for a cart to transport items.
- Staff was poorly trained in customer service. Most often heard excuse was someone called off or someone else didn't do their job.
- We returned to our room at 4:15 on the first day only to find that it had not been cleaned. Housekeeping arrived at 4:20 and asked if we needed anything. We gave them our trash and received clean towels. Housekeeper informed us that stayovers got low priority due to staff shortages and they needed to do new room-ins first.
- The water park was filthy. Everyone in my family got diarrhea. I would presume due to the high levels of bacteria in the water.
- The walls to the room were paper thin. We could hear everything from the adjoining rooms. Including the baby crying next door at 3AM!
- The hotel was cold. For being an indoor water park where most guests are walking about in wet bathing suits, it would seem that a warmer temperature would be more ideal.
- Logistics in general were not thought through. This place brings out the worst in people and it was every man for him self on many occasions in the water park. Good luck getting a tube for your kids or finding a seat. Have fun standing in line for everything and I mean everything.
- We cut our stay short by a day and were happy to leave. This includes my 2 kids age 6 and 8. Even they had had enough.
- The check out process was the same mess as check in. Good luck getting a cart. My wife followed someone to their car and waited in the cold rain to get one.
Don't waste your entertainment dollar on this place. It is a newer facility and could be very nice if it was properly managed

Been here twice. Now that they have expanded, it is even more awesome. I highly recommend it and will go back year after year. Our kids ages 5, 6 and 8 love this place more than Myrtle Beach and Disney World. Great job Kalahari, Great place. Keep up the great work :-) In our family's eyes this is definitely a 10/10 no doubt
