Good
member icon Poorly designed park, clean rooms

40 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Our family stayed one night in Sandusky and paid a lot for the room & park tickets. The food prices are pretty high ($4 for a kids hot dog). The park felt crowded but the parking lot wasn't even 1/2 full. They let the general public in (not just resort guests) so watch your stuff! The lines for the rides were small (< 20 people) but the waits long. Most of the staff (not all) were very unsociable (there were a select few who you knew enjoyed what they did).

The rooms were very nice & clean. However, the walls are thin & security is lax. Kids running around the halls and jumping around in rooms (paper thin walls) until well past midnight despite calls to the front desk.

The rides were fun though.

Poorly designed water park, the Kalahari in the Dells is much better. The lazy river is very small, almost an afterthought. Bathrooms were hard to get to (for those of us with kids).

You have to walk through an arcade to get to and from the pool. Try to get your kids out of the pool to start, then past all the video games. . .

16 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My family went to Kalahari and stayed just one night. That one day is all we needed. The park was huge. It was a bit crowded, but that didn't get in the way of anything. I actually rode all the water slides, which were amazingly fun. The staff is really good; great personalities. We had the huge village suite for our 13 guests. It was really clean and very homey. We felt like we were sitting in our living room at home. The fireplace was a great aspect since it was the middle of winter. Overall, this trip was amazing and worth coming back for.

This place was very clean and we had a great time. The staff was vary friendly and helpful. My wife and children had a fantastic time and this will be the 3rd year in a row that we will visit. Some rides were broke down and the water was a little cold but it was one of the coldest days of the year. Over all I would suggest this place to others and dare to say that this place is awesome. A great place for a family and a great place to relax.

The greatest drawback is that the general public (non-guests) are allowed into the entire hotel.

Our expensive video camera was stolen, the lines were too long (20 minutes min.) rides were broken and closed, and the waterpark was unclean.

They have poorly located restrooms for those with kids. The food prices are a bit high. The rooms were clean and enjoyable, the maids were nice, but the hotel staff is uncaring.

They were unprepared for my daughter’s birthday party. They had a very unclean pool. My daughter and I ended up with two ear infections with debris in them. It was overpriced, and had greasy food. They did not care about your problems. It was a very unhappy 6th birthday.
