Jehan Numa Palace was built in the year 1890, during the rule of Nawab Sultan Jehan Begum by her second son General Obaidullah Khan, Commander-in-Chief of the erstwhile Bhopal state Force. After the death of the General, The Palace went through many occupational adjustments. Finally the grandsons of General Obaidullah Khan came up with a dream to convert this Palace into a world class Hotel. This became a reality in the month of September1983, when it was officially opened. Jehan Numa is an Urdu word, which means a ?View of The World?.
Set in five acres of lush green grass and splashes of colorful bougainvillea, nestled on the slopes of Shamla Hills, Jehan Numa Palace is a hotel with a difference. ?Too intimate to be called a Palace and too friendly to be called a hotel? to quote a visiting journalist.? It is one of the best surprises Bhopal Springs on You.
