Location. The JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa is located in Phoenix, Ariz. The Mayo Clinic Hospital is located one mile from this property. Hotel Features. A marble-clad two-story lobby overlooks a four-acre water complex and palm-lined pathways. A choice of 10 restaurants includes Roy's, known internationally for its Hawaiian Fusion cuisine. Just a Splash poolside bar hosts seasonal steel-drum entertainment. Blue Sage's menu is inspired by contemporary Southwestern and American cuisine, and offers 25-ounce margaritas. The resort houses a staffed Fed-Ex Kinko's center. The property includes 240,000 square feet of function space. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee in the lobby and the pool area. Two championship golf courses were individually designed by Nick Faldo and Arnold Palmer. Eight tennis courts, a pro shop and tennis clinics are on site. The hotel was wonderful. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The amenities of the hotel were much more than anticipated.
I was placed close to an exit. At the beginning of my stay, I was given a plan of the hotel and was shown how to maneuver throughout. Although the hotel was very large, the hotel personnel were throughout the floors.

It had a helpful staff. We asked for a cigar shop, and they were able to direct us to one immediately. Our breakfast was delivered to our door incorrectly, but was corrected immediately, and we were not charged for it.
Being able to sit in the hot tub and then take a swim in the pool was refreshing. The patio that was outside of our patio door was a great place to sit and watch the scenery.

I enjoyed my stay at the resort. It was very clean and comfortable. It's out on the edge of town and there are limited shopping sites within walking distance. I would recommend staying there. The food was outstanding.
Upon arrival, you're greeted at the door by a professional, courteous staff. The front desk was very helpful and called you by name. They gave you the feeling that you are valued by them and they wanted to deliver the best service possible.

Desert Ridge offered many amenities. The staff was exceptional. This was a family holiday gathering and the stay was enjoyed by everyone. I must add however that I believe the Camelback location had more to offer our grandchildren during our last holiday at a Marriott in Arizona in terms of activities and play areas. We also appreciated the ease of parking our cars directly adjacent to our rooms.
The Marriott staff was very attentive. The accommodations, especially the bathrooms, exceeded expectations.
