Great
member icon Great hotel, horrible beds and service

30 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I stayed the past weekend here and had a great time. The location is perfect. The pools are real nice and kid friendly. The beach is real nice along with the fishing pier. This hotel had a bunch of activities. The staff at the check-in desk were very friendly and helpful. The only problems I had were the bed and the pool towels.

The bed felt like a lumpy hard box spring. My 7 month pregnant wife and I went to the check-in desk first thing in the morning after our first night. The woman at the check-in desk was extremely nice and helpful. She put in an order to fix the problem; however the maintenance guy said abruptly, "There is nothing we can do, we have no extra beds". They did nothing else to even attempt to fix the our problem. Needless to say, we spent another sleepless night in the torturous bed.

I went to the pool with my 6 year old daughter. We asked an attendant for pool towels. The attendant acted like he had no time for us. He told me in a nasty tone that there are no more pool towels and that I have to use my room towels. As I walked away, another attendant who realized how nasty his co-worker was being stopped me and told me that if I go to the check-in desk, I could get some more towels.

Aside from a couple employees with bad attitudes, the Islander Resort is awesome, just bring an air mattress just in case.

43 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Booked Dec 26 through December 29 initially. Went back to their office 5 times after checking in to add a Saturday night (one additional night). They told me that I would have a oceanfront room transfer for that Saturday night which meant we would be checking out on Sunday instead of Saturday. The first night in our room was horrible; our neighbors were moving furniture all night it seemed. We called to complain several times, but to no avail. The next night had new neighbors and MORE problems. There children were running around all night screaming and sitting on OUR private patio. I called to complain, again no results. Seemed more like a trailer park instead of a $220/night resort. The 3rd day we had a horrible ant infestation. We called the front desk several times and although they promised each time to send somebody NOBODY BOTHERED TO SHOW! At this point we only stayed because we had been promised a new room on the beach for our last night (Saturday). When I went to have our room transferred Saturday morning THEY HAD GIVEN IT TO SOMEBODY ELSE! THIS WAS UNBELIEVABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE! I can only guess that they are only a bunch of MONEY GRUBBERS and will make promises to paying customers only to break them later if they can get more for the room. OF COURSE, they had no explanation. Never again will I stay at this dump!

I am not likely to return to the Islander Resort.
I would not recommend it to friends.

It is a very beautiful resort. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It had a great pool area. I would highly recommend it.

This hotel made me feel practical: They always spoke to me and the wait staff spent time to make sure that we were satisfied with everything.

I am very likely to return to the Islander Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Islander has upgraded itself very nicely. Although a little pricey, it is worth what you pay and extremely enjoyable. We had a wonderful time and recommend it to others.

This hotel made me feel welcome: The room was clean, check-in was expedient, and the grounds were well maintained. The personnel, upon interaction, were friendly and helpful.

I am very likely to return to the Islander Resort.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
