54 year old woman with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

One-of-a-kind location with all rooms directly overlooking beautiful Cape Kiwanda's Haystack Rock. Small boutique inn in Pacific City, just north of Lincoln City and south of Tillamook on the Oregon Coast, is unique in its small town tranquility with big city luxury. Each room has very high end furnishings, with great attention to the small details, gas fireplaces, and decks overlooking the beautiful Cape. We stayed in their wonderful suite, and could not have asked for better accommodations for a relaxing week at the beach.

We were celebrating my mother's 78th birthday and the inn, knowing of the occasion and also of her poor health, went way out of their way to ensure that we were treated like gold. They installed special safety equipment in one room for her; greeted us by name each time we passed through their comfortable "living room" (lobby); and the whole management staff joined together to sing "Happy Birthday" to her when they delivered a gorgeous bouquet of flowers to her on her big day. After a week, my Mom could not stop talking about how she was treated "like a movie star" the whole time! Please also note that these are people who understand the need for accessibility for people of all physical abilities, and will go out of their way to accommodate special needs without embarrassment or fuss!

Every summer you can sit on your balcony at the inn and be entertained by watching these dory boats launch into the water straight from the sand. Later, after spending your morning with an in-room massage or nice breakfast across the street at the oceanfront Pelican Pub, you can return to your balcony and be entertained free-of-charge by boatloads of happy tourists smacking right up onto the beach with a triumphant blast of the horn that means, "We've caught our limits!" Joe and Wendy Hay of Haystack shipping offer the safest and entertaining fishing charter experience you could ever ask for -- and the Inn will be happy to help you make arrangements to make this excursion part of your Pacific Coast adventure.

Cape Kiwanda has the best tidepooling and surfing beach for miles. The Pub has internationally award-winning beers and great food; with views that have encouraged more than a few wedding planners to use the Inn and Pub for seaside nuptials.

We have visited the inn during the busy summer season, and returned during winter to storm watch. It is always wonderful! I highly recommend that you make friends with Kim at the Inn and Joe and Wendy of Haystack Fishing, and have the time of your life at this wonderful place.

I am very likely to return to the Inn at Cape Kiwanda.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
