Horrible
Not quite sure what type of room the other reviewers stayed in, BUT, ours was a disaster! Sure, the location of the Inn is great (it IS next to the Pacific), BUT, the room that is offered through the online deal is NOT 3 star. The room does not...
All of the advantages of a Mediterranean vacation without the long flight or expense. It is quaint, it is funky, it is fun. Rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. The roof top has gas grills and living room set ups, including TVs. Plan on having...

Okay
The service was very friendly, but the facility was somewhat in disrepair. They were working on some rooms to make improvements, but our room had closet doors that were difficult to operate, the toilet moved when sat upon, the tub was stained and...

The Inn at Avila Beach is a great place to stay and enjoy the beach. I've stayed there many times in all the room types and always enjoyed my stay. It is an older no frills hotel, but it is clean, comfortable, and safe. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A great place to take the kids or get away alone. The ocean front rooms are my favorite. They have large balcony's with incredible views, and you can hear the ocean. The jacuzzi rooms are decorated a little nicer, but there isn't a view. The court yards rooms are very basic, but they are great if your doing a budget trip because the have a stove and fridge (If you're on a budget trip with the kids check out the Avila farm its only a few miles away and has a petting zoo, hayride, fresh produce and baked goods). The inn has a roof top terrace has a beautiful view, hammocks, daybeds chairs and tables, an ice machine and 2 gas bbqs. The inn loans dishes and glassware. There are even a few tvs up there. Its a great spot to lounge in the sun, bbq, or just enjoy the view. All rooms are on the second and third floor, and there are no elevators. It is the best deal I've found on the central coast!

Excellent
We just had a gathering of about 35 people from all over the US and Australia. Author Sue Grafton wrote a book that took place in Avila Beach and she actually joined us for the event. The owners and staff of Avila Inn were extraordinary! They were...

Although recently renovated, this very old property was run down and lacked A/C. Our room was stuffy and was equipped with only a standing fan. We werent given the deluxe room they sold us when booking. When we complained, the general manager said "You got a good deal". The owner later insulted me in an e-mail. We were very disappointed overall. Although well located, try another hotel! There are many nicer places nearby.
