The staff was freindly and helpful. The room was nicely appointed, if small. The buiding is beautiful. If you have business at IU and can get a room, this is a great place to stay.

It was very obvious that the hotel does only the bare minimum. The check in attendant practically ignored us, he was surly when our room was not ready when promised. There were no light switches for the lamps. We had to turn them on individually. There were no room service options or other amenities, no in room snacks, not even any in room literature about the hotel and about Bloomington, a truly wonderful town with lots of dining and entertainment options. The furniture was broken and the whole hotel area had an air of dinginess. We love Bloomington and we will return, but we will not be staying in this hotel again, especially with the high price.
I am not likely
to return to the Indiana Memorial Union Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Excellent
If you are visiting IU, this is the best place to stay. You are right on campus, the rooms are very nice and the rate is terrific. I always try to get this hotel first but its not always available.
