Idle a While Motel Motel - Page 1

This hotel is family run and the owner lives on the premises. We do our best to accommodate our guests. We normally give fast, friendly service to ALL guests checking in or out. There are signs in the office notifying guests to ask for the AAA or Senior discount... just in case we forget to ask. That said, since the previous reviewer failed to sign their name or e-mail address, I cannot critique their reservation or the service they apparently received. Perhaps next time, if ever, this hapens... at any motel... they will ask for the owner or write the motel a letter. Barbara .. E-Mail: idle-a-while@methownet.com

I cannot recommend this place. The woman at the front desk just didn't seem happy to see us from the moment my husband and I walked in. She became more irritated when we corrected her by telling her our reservations were for two people, not four. As she ran our VISA through the machine I realized we hadn't asked for our AAA discount. 'I've already run it through,' she said in what I can only describe as a snotty tone. She handed us back our card. 'You mean we can't get our discount?' my husband asked. 'I've already run it through,' she reiterated in the same tone. 'That's alright,' my husband said politely, 'You can run it through again.' This really made her angry. She grabbed the card out of my husband's hand, turned away from us and very forcibly slammed her fist into the machine. My husband and I were shocked and really didn't know how to react. I felt like just walking out, but it was my husband's birthday so I didn't want to make things any worse. We ended up staying the night there, but the incident pretty much ruined our trip.
