The Ibis Portsmouth Centre is located in the city centre, 3 min from the train station, the Town Hall and the High Street. Ideal for weekend stays, the hotel is 10 min from Clarence Pier in Southsea, the Gunwharf Quays, the D Day Museum, Sea Life Centre,Submarine Museum and shipyards. 24 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for business
The rooms themselves were clean and well maintained, with a basic shower room and facilities. The beds, linen and towels were clean and fresh, and everything worked perfectly in the room. When I stayed here some of the rooms had some strange wiring hanging from the ceiling but this wasn’t related to the comfort of the room. The noise inside the rooms from other residents and the hallway was quite loud, but most people were aware of this so were considerate. The staff were lovely and seemed genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable. The breakfast which was provided was basic but adequate for every diet, and you could tell that everything was fresh as they kept bringing more out. The location of this hotel is amazing, it is situated really close to the centre of Portsmouth right near a main street which has nice bars and restaurants on it. It is also only a 10 minute walk to Gunwharf Quay, which has lots of outlet stores and delicious, well priced restaurants.
Overall, the location of this hotel made it very convenient, and although it was basic it was what I had expected for the price.
