Hyatt Regency Tampa Hotel

I enjoyed the stay and I loved the bar.

Everything worked out well, the service, the food and the accommodations.

The staff is excellent. They have comfortable rooms. The hotel is centrally located.

I had only a short stay in the Hyatt Regency Tampa, but during the three days I stayed, I got the impression that the hotel is charging the prices of a Hyatt hotel but does not deliver the services.

On my second day here, I spent 45 minutes waiting for a cheese omelet for breakfast. The hotel room was not made up until 4.30 pm. I called housekeeping, but 30 minutes later no one showed up. I went to reception to complain and got the excuse that they where very busy because they had many departures this day. There were plenty of apologies, but I was not even offered a coffee while waiting for housekeeping to make up the room.

I went to the whirlpool, but it was dirty, the pool area was OK, but the exhaust from the kitchen ended up right near the lounge chair area at the 5th floor near the pool, so I was sitting at the pool smelling the burning fat from the deep fryer of the kitchen.

The staff in the bar was friendly and efficient. The croissants served at the breakfast buffet came fresh from the fridge.

The business suite I stayed in was extremely comfortable. The location is five minutes from my work's corporate headquarters. I ate at the Avanzare restaurant several times and visited the deli for breakfast once and all visits exceeded my expectations. I will not consider any other hotel, for business or personal purposes, for future visits to Tampa based on this stay. Every staff member was courteous and knowledgeable with excellent communication skills. The only thing I did notice was that the carpeting in the hall on my room level needed to be replaced.

This hotel made me feel pampered: I felt particularly pampered when I ordered dinner to be brought to my room one night. I did not expect all the extras such as the waiter in uniform and the complete tray with linens, extra glassware and wonderful bread. It was worth it and the food was excellent and hot.
