The lobby was impeccably cool, full of skantily clad "ladies of the night" (or so it seemed). The furniture in the lobby was from the future or something, making me feel like it was 3008 instead of 2008. All this atmosphere compelled me to let my fingers do the walking and order me up a HJ. Now I know my experience with the HJ-lady has nothing to do with the hotel or the hotel staff, but I still will always equate the Hyatt Regency O'hare with the most amazing HJ I've ever received! God bless this mess!

Upon check in and going to our room we noticed a very offensive air fresher odor (it was beyond strong) We went back to the front desk to ask about a room where there wasn't the strong air freshener smell. They looked at me like I was crazy & sent us to another room in the 'executive section' of the hotel that was just as bad. The hallways were almost worse as if they'd recently fumigated them with air freshener. We ended up checking out after the 3rd room had the same offensive oder AND getting our non-refundable payment back from hotwire. I am not especially sensitive to chemical smells but this affected me for the rest of the evening. Because of the odor I will never go back to this hotel. I asked if other guest had complained of this and they indicated that they had.

I did not like that I had to wait until 3pm to check into my room when I had requested early check in at 11am. I was there for the Anime Central May 11-13th, 27 convention. I also did not like that the only elevator to the bottom floor was out of service because I am in a wheelchair. I was also very unhappy that the pool had been removed during the recent renovation.
The recently remodeled lobby was very cool looking.
I am very likely
to return to the Hyatt Regency OHare.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We went for the anime convention and the place was full to the brim, which caused many problems including elevator congestion. It was frustrating for many who requested rooms with two beds to find those rooms sold out a day or two previously. Technically they called it a standard room with a preference of two beds, so no one had a legal complaint.

to return to the Hyatt Regency OHare.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Where do I start? Another example of hotels putting all of their money into the Lobby and then skimping on the guest rooms. Beds were hard. Bedding and decor was outdated. Everyone came home with bug bites all over them. Then to top it all off, I got trapped in our bathroom somehow. I didn't even lock the door, but somehow the door wouldn't come open. After an hour with a crew of men trying to get the door open, they resorted to having to cut me out of the bathroom with a saw. We were told we could have a 'free breakfast' for our trouble, but then staff acted as though we were just trying to squeeze them for a free deal.
Complained to management and was told they couldn't refund our weekend because we pre-paid. Gave us a year to use a free suite, but 'NO thank you." You couldn't pay me to sleep there again. Bed Bugs and entrapment just not worth a suite.

I like the convenience of a shuttle service from the airport and that they have several restaurants to choose from. I like that they are close to the train depot so I do not have to rent a car when I am there.
I liked the comfortable rooms and the decor that was modest.
