49 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I found the hotel to be very nice and accomodating. We arrived at 10:30 in the morning and they had a suite available for us. The suite was fabulous. The view was beautiful from the balcony.

The pool was nice. They had a game of Bingo by the pool on Sunday afternoon which was fun.

The only thing that I did not care for was the bathroom. There was not enough counter space. The shower drained to the center of the bathroom floor which made the bathroom floor a little slippery.

We traveled with 2 teenagers and 2 adults. The kids loved the jet ski's that were available for rental. Tip: Don't rent from the hotel. If you walk down by the Fish and CHips restauant, there is a rental place that offers jet ski's for about $25 cheaper. The company at the hotel was unwilling to match the price, so we rented from the other company.

The room was clean and well maintained. There was no extra charge for a roll away which we appreciated.

All in all, the service was great, the room was clean and the scenery was beautiful. WOuld definately stay here again. We were there in June of 2008.

43 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed at the end of May and found the location fairly convenient and beautiful. We had an ocean view room in the towers.

The Hyatt is finishing a 12 million dollar renovation and it has some excellent features. The pool slides were really nice and the atmosphere is very elegant.

We especially liked the Hyatt water taxi ride to Sea World for just a few dollars round trip for adults. The walk to Sea World is much longer than advertised (took me about 25 minutes). The Hyatt also had good Sea World ticket prices.

It is a pretty long walk over the bridge to Mission Bay- but we liked the hike and found good bike rental prices. It is beautiful riding a bike along the boardwalk and bay!

Now the ouch! The Hyatt is following the trend of a lot of the upper price hotels in gouging you for every nickel they can get.

The rooms have no coffee service- you will be shelling out 2.50 a cup at Einstein's Bagels (no free refills)- the only coffee found anywhere on the property.

The rooms have no microwave and a very small micro fridge.

And, you will also be paying $18.00 a day for parking.

We decided to forego a car and use the Metro transit, which is a good way to get around San Diego- you can get a day pass for just $5.00 a person. We went by bus and trolley all over- La Holla, Coronado, Old Town- it was all very easy.

If we go back to San Diego- we probably will not stay again at the Hyatt unless they at least get some coffee or a killer rate.

went on memorial day of 08. Had room with a view of pool and ocean near by. Was very close to Sea World and Mission Bay Beach. Sunsets are beautiful. Room was comfortable and did have nice T.V. very comfortable seating inside and outside the balcony. The fridge was the only thing that did not work. Had someone check it and told us to leave doors to cabinet open so it can cool and never did. We stayed 3 days. Children loved it. Had 3 pools and 2 slides, jacuzzi were all working great. Beach was so close if you did not want to stay all day at pools. Overall very nice and everyone nice also. Would go back on vacation again at the Hyatt.

38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

I have never been more disappointed in my life with a Hyatt! Upon check-in (6:30pm) my suite wasn’t quite available after twenty short minutes we were given the key to our worst nightmare. We opened the door to a musty, dim, and filthy suite. I promptly turned around and walked the 300 yards (Yes 300) back to the front desk and asked for a different room that didn’t look like a scene from CSI. I was given access to two other suites; the carpets were soaking wet and not able to be occupied without hip waders. Without any other choices we stayed in the ‘suite’ the first night, I never took off my shoes until bed. The next night we were given two adjoining rooms with the same carpet problem but at least they were cleaner. My purpose of the trip was to sight see during the morning and early afternoon and return to swim with my kids in the evening. The pool with the slides was closed down 2 of the 3 days we were there and so was the hot tub. The hotel staff tried but at $339.00 a night I could have spent a lot of nights at a Motel 6 with better accommodations. I stayed at many hotels and have never felt the need to warn people about anyone of them until now. The hotel staff really tried to help but I think their hands are tied. If Hyatt offered my family a free stay at the hotel to accommodate us I would honestly have to pass.
