I had hoped this place was like it is described on its website. I arrived to only have the front desk blurt out a price that was way above the price confirmed and charged to me online. This was my husbands birthday SURPRISE. I had to then ask her

The good stuff: Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, flat screen tv, large bathroom with tub and separate shower, in room fridge & safe. If you get a good rate and all you are interested in is the pool facilities for the kids and maybe golf, this co

We live in Round Rock and decided to get-away for our anniversary/birthday weekend. I went online (hyatt lost pines website) and booked our reservations in advance to ensure we got the room I wanted. They charged the account $1200 right then and that was fine. On checkout day we received the final bill for $1700 which was correct except they didn't deduct the $1200 that we'd already paid when I booked online. We get home and check the bank acct. so we can call and have them adjust the bill. When looking at our acct. we see that there are multiple charges one for the $1200, one for $1700 and then two more equaling another $1700!! It took us a week and about 15 calls to get this mess straightened out and have all the charges reversed where we only pay the $1700 and not $4600!
Be wary of having your credit/debit card on file! We will not be returning anytime soon which is a shame because the place is beautiful and the food is great, but way too expensive!
Forgot to mention we had a spider in our bed upon arrival and if you're allergic to down bedding beware!

The hotel is secluded and quiet. It is staffed with friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful people. The grounds and outdoor facilities are in excellent shape and well maintained.
My wife and I were in a two-bedroom suite which we shared with our son and his wife, our son being a new employee of the hotel. We were treated like VIP's.
I am very likely
to return to the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
I went here last week and was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good! I don't eat out very often but I would definitely consider going back to Stories. You have to try the lamb!

My wife and I live in Austin and had been hearing great things about this restaurant for some time.
We have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world and feel that Stories ranks among the best. It was my husbands birthday and the chef really made us feel pampered. The food was much better than most of the restaurants in Austin that receive so much hype. We have eaten at Uchi and the Driskill and felt they didn't live up to the hype, but this place is on another level!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Lost Pines. There was so much to do and see. You would have to stay more than a weekend to enjoy all of the amenities. In the summer, the hotel is busy, especially the weekend but the restaurants, bars, activities and amenities are available.
We took the sunset float on the Colorado and while it was not rapids, it was very fun and the river guide provided a wealth of knowledge about the ecosystem, conservation and even the unique Bastrop history. We ate at the Golf Club one day and the food was absolutely astounding, try the sweet potatoes fries and the wrap. The stories, the fine dining restaurant is great as well, though pricey. I enjoyed a glass of wine and the lamb and I was thoroughly happy, their service was great everywhere at the resort from the pool hut for towels to the bell captain with ideas of what to do upon checking in.
The pool area can keep the kids busy all day if you don't have horseback riding, bicycling, recreational games (at the pool and other places) or other activities already planned.
My wife enjoyed a treatment at the Spa Django, which was named after a famous gypsy guitarist, that's cool. She said that the private ladies pool and steam/sauna. She wanted to spend the whole day at the relaxing spa. I will return to play the golf course as it is stunning and they provide caddies for all of the rounds, something I am told is quite an experience. We will be back!

This is a decent, clean hotel, but it appears as though Hyatt ran out of money when putting the finishing touches on this hotel. Its definitely not 4-star material.
The good: A very cool pool with a 'lazy river' feature. They have an adult pool for those who would like to be away from the noise of children, a good breakfast buffet, and a nice staff, especially the bell hops.
The rooms had what appeared to be water damage on the walls and cracks in the ceiling (in a brand-new hotel?). The smoke detector in our room was torn out of the wall. We arrived at 7 pm and had to wait 1.5 hours for our room to be ready because "housekeeping was a little behind." (at 8:30 pm?) The front desk staff hid in a room in the back while patrons waited (and fumed) for their rooms. No apology was issued for the inconvenience. Families with small children were left waiting until past 8:30 pm. The fine dining restaurant is not worth the money. Opt for the less expensive restaurants and you will get your money's worth. Housekeeping did not replenish items that were used like coffee, lotion, etc. When we asked for a map of the running trails, the customer service desk cheerfully supplied them, noting that there were "16 miles of trails" for us to enjoy. We went out for a run only to discover that the trails were closed; we had to run on the service road.
And so on, and so forth. If you are coming here with your family and your main goal is to relax by the pool, by all means this is the place for you. If you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, keep looking.
