The Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas is now a Loewe's Hotel. It doesn't look like they've made a lot of cosmetic changes, but there is no longer a casino on-site. I really can't rate how the hotel is now run.
Although the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort is located across the lake from the Monte Lago village and casino, I prefer this hotel over the Ritz-Carlton. The people are very friendly and the pools put the Ritz to shame. Try a Mojito while relaxing in the upper (adult) pool, or join the kids on the waterslide which dumps into the lower, kid-friendly, pool. There is a small beach on the lake with water toys available.
The rooms were nicely decorated in a Moroccan theme with an empty mini fridge to fill with your own stuff (much cheaper than an honor bar.) There is also a coffee maker in the room (almost unheard of in Vegas.) The bed was great with six pillows and dramatic decorative pillows as well.
Have breakfast outdoors on the restaurant patio before it gets too hot. The staff is great; friendly and well-trained. Nice Touch: They bring a small complimentary smoothie when you sit down.
I will never visit Las Vegas in the summer again though! "Dry heat" or not, it's just too darn hot!
