Hotel Review by a traveler from De Soto, KS - Posted Dec 15, 05
21 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

I really enjoyed the view of the hotel, as well as the hotel lobby that had a full lounge and a gift shop.

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

This hotel was more than adequate in terms of comfort and service. I had a room with a terrific view. And I got an exceptionally good price discount.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Andrew, IL - Posted Nov 10, 05

This hotel is in a good location to local attractions, all within good walking distance. There are lots of good shopping options. However, the hotel restaurant was too expensive. There are other places to eat locally that are better value.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I might recommend it to friends.

The staff was completely outgoing. They made our anniversary trip wonderful with the free buffet breakfasts. This hotel is in a perfect location for tram, subway, and metro travel. It's close to downtown and the lakefront.

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

My experience at the Hyatt was overall very pleasant. I didn't like the cheesy 'night club' that was located in the lobby (the music could be heard a couple floors up). It was also pretty pathetic to have the music thumping when there was no one there. Another problem I had was with regard to the airport shuttle: as the hotel has two entrances (one on each of its wings), the pick-up point was not located in a logical place (what the hotel considered to be their 'main' entrance). This caused me to miss my scheduled pick up and resulted in the extra fees associated with a pricey taxi ride.

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The hotel's location was great: close to shopping and parks and restaurants. I needed the mini-bar locked because I have a small child and I had a problem having the staff lock it.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Mequon, WI - Posted Oct 17, 05

I wanted rooms that were joined. I checked the day before arrival, after making the reservations months ago - everything was in order. But when I got there, I was told that there was nothing available, I asked for non-smoking, the room smelled of smoke, and check-in took over 1/2 hour.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I might recommend it to friends.

Southern-Belle icon Nice hotel in a convenient location.

We have stayed at the Hyatt Hotel on Wacker St. in Chicago many times over the last 10 years. It's gone "hip" lately, though, opening a night club with extremely loud music right on the ground floor reception area. It doesn't disturb us, but I think I liked the good old days when you could bring a friend in for a casual drink in peace and quiet. Lately we've noticed, too, that the elevators are very slow. Otherwise a great location near Michigan Avenue and a comfortable place to stay. Watch the minibar, however, $4 for a can of soda!

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Hotel Review by a traveler from Springfield, MO - Posted Oct 9, 05
40 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business

This hotel has a very nice staff. The concierge was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar were well kept. The hotel has a nice atmosphere. My biggest problem was that it was very expensive. For example: a disposable camera in the gift shop cost $20. Down the street, the same camera was $7.

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Hotel Review by a traveler from IL - Posted Oct 3, 05
42 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

When we finally checked-in, the man at the desk was fantastic. He upgraded us to a nicer room for $15, told us about free robes, the area -- he was just incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel and room were wonderful, except for the heating system which was annoyingly loud when turned on. Also, when trying to check-in, the parking staff was overwhelmed and didn't know what to do with us since we weren't using valet parking. We finally went to west tower and checked-in there, then parked our car. Overall, we had a great time. We would come back.

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
