I loved the look and feel of this hotel. The room was contemporary and the staff was very nice and helpful.

We had a picture perfect view from our room. The hotel has a FULL stocked grocery store in the lower level. If I had to state a negative, it would be the price for parking and valet took a long time to bring our car around. Also, this hotel is way to modern and contemporary to not have a pool?

Loved the fountain in the lobby and the bar at night downstairs is a great hang out with live music.

member icon Hyatt valet parking lost my car keys!

35 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I have traveled all over the world in my line of work and this was the worst experience of my life. The valet at the Hyatt lost my car keys, I got stranded two extra days in Chicago because I had to find a way to get my spare key from my home which was 200 miles away, I finally got my key and got sent away two days later with insurance paperwork from the parking garage. I have to get my key remade at a dealership here and now submit a claim to their insurance company. They have wiped their hands clean. The hotel just turned over the parking to an outside facility. You think when you pull into the Hyatt that you are parking with the Hyatt Hotel, hence the $45 parking charge instead of the no name garage two blocks away which only charges $25. This is NOT the case. They take no responsibility with your car. This was really disappointing since I had been having good luck with the Hyatt chain lately. I am going back to Mariott, was a platinum there for many years and never had anything even remotely close to this happen.

26 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We stayed here from 14-17 June and it was in a great location. We were right at the beginning of the Magnificent Mile and plenty of shopping to do close to the hotel and the Navy Pier is not far away either. The rooms are done in natural tone colors which was nice and there were plenty of pillows on the bed which I loved. I had no problems with check in or check out. The only complaint I had was the bathroom the toilet is very loud when flushing and would wake me up at night from the next door or the floor above. The plaster is falling off in the bathroom as well. Other than that we had a great time and try out the Big bar they have huge drinks that are really good.

19 year old man with a economy budget, traveling for business

The room was not that great for the money. The beds were not comfortable. The bathroom was less than expected for such a nice hotel. The elevators were ridiculously slow and there were not enough for the number of people they were supposed to service.

I am not likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Awful

31 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The lines at the check in desk were tremendously long so we decided to use the computerized self check in. The only option the self check in gave us was the size of the bed. When we got to our room, we immediately realized we were placed in a smoking room but we were unable or perhaps the staff was unwilling to move us to a non smoking room. I am allergic to the smoke and that made my stay uncomfortable. The walls seemed thin and we could clearly hear the conversations of the guests in the rooms next to us. When we went to breakfast, we were seated quickly but it was nearly ten minutes before our server arrived. For the price they were charging, the wait was unacceptable and we went elsewhere. It also took ten extra minutes than promised for the valet to get our car. For forty dollars a day for parking, we expected better.

I am not likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
I would not recommend it to friends.

It was great for the price. However, it was not even close to a four star experience. But for the price, it was acceptable.

The room was comfortable and clean. The view of the lake from our window was wonderful. We enjoyed the view we had of the hustle and bustle of the city.

This hotel made me feel welcome: There were people immediately at our car when we arrived to help with luggage. Check in and check out were quick and easy.

It had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The room service was not as great as I thought it should be since everything else was so upscale. The location was wonderful right downtown. Ask the concierge about other restaurants as the hotel one is expensive and there are plenty of local places nearby for cheaper price and good food. I would definitely recommend staying there.

I am very likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

The bed was very comfortable. But I had called in the morning to request a room with two beds and I said I would not be arriving until around nine o'clock in the evening. I was told that would not be a problem. When we arrived shortly after nine o'clock, we were told that there were no more rooms with two beds. I was not happy about it.

The location is perfect for my business and personal needs. It's an easy to get to business location and right off of the Magic Mile. The service is great and the hotel is nice.
