PROS:
* The staff was friendly, especially the concierge. I was able to get directions and all my questions answered.
* The room was spacious and seemed almost too big as if there were a couch and coffee table missing.
* The king bed was very comfortable and made getting up in the morning feel like something that should be postponed.
* The location is great because it is right downtown and a block away from Chippewa Street stretch where all the bars, clubs, and pubs are. Also, it is very close to I-190 for a straight shot drive to Niagra Falls.
* There was a gift shop in the lobby that sold almost all the necessities so if you forgot a toothbrush or something, then you can get one without leaving the hotel.
* The fitness center was nice. They have one on the 11th floor that is small, but the one across the street in the OT building was nicer.
CONS:
* The check-in process started off really slow--it took a while to get a room after waiting in line for almost 30 mintues! I understand that there were many people checking in for the Convention Center events, but having only two people at the front desk moving at snail speed when there are other receptionists walking around acting unaware of the line was unacceptable without explanation.
* The price hovered around $189 which wasn't too bad, but I've stayed in other hotels in the area that were on par with the Hyatt and were cheaper.
* The parking was a bit confusing since the hotel doesn't officially have a lot. However, there is a lot across the street between Franklin and Pearl that charges $5 per entry which is good for someone who is going to stay in the hotel all day. Otherwise, I advise you to purchase the $14/day parking tickets/promotion from the hotel if you are going to drive often. It works like this: you buy the tickets/coupons from the hotel and give one to the parking cashier upon entrance. If you run out of coupons then you go to the front desk and get more.
* The TV was an old Zenith model that hummed whenever I turned it on.
OVERALL:
The hotel was okay, but I've been spoiled by other hotels and set my standards pretty high. For what it was worth, I would give the Hyatt a 6.5.
I am somewhat likely to return to the Hyatt Regency Buffalo. I might recommend it to friends.
