57 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Touring the British Isles, we stopped in Birmingham and stayed here a couple of nights. Our room had a spectacular view was very nice. Be sure to choose a room located above the eighteenth floor for the very best views. Our room included air conditioning, mini bar, a safe, which was great for storing our extra cash, and a luxurious bathroom complete with toiletries and bathrobes. The TVs are plasma and wallmounted, a refreshing change from some hotels old clunkers. They also have a wonderful spa where we got a welcome massage.
They have a pool and gym onsite, too, which is a great way to start out the day. Location is good as there are lots of places on Broad Street to eat and the hub of Birmingham nightlife. On the down side, there is no parking.
On the downside, you'll have to park down the street at the Hyatt but you can drop your bags off first rather than dragging them uphill from the Hyatt. The concierge will offer car parking, taxi and event support as well. Parking at the Hyatt will cost you around $24 a day, which I thought was rather steep. The cost will be added to your bill.
