Reasons why not to stay here:
Staff flat out lied to us twice--of course with a smile:
1. They told me to throw my parking pass away because I was paying for it by credit card--this was totally wrong.
2. I needed my clothes washed, so they told me just to "throw your dirty laundry on the bed and the staff will take care of it." This again was totally wrong and as such I had to wear dirty clothes the following days there.
They have 4 elevators but only 2 of them seem to work. When I complained the staff said, "We're busy today, sir, sorry--although we are running 3 at the moment." This statement I had to laugh at. There were literally lines waiting to use them. We used the stairs from the 6th floor 80% of our time there. I am by no means fat, lazy or old but I do expect to have a friggin elevator that works especially when I'm paying close to $200 a night.
This hotel is old and has zero personality. There are far better places to stay in Baltimore. May I suggest one of the new hotels in Fells Point. They have really fixed up Fells Point now and it seems safer and cleaner now. Fells Point has eclectic shopping, restaurants and bars. The Hyatt is near the Inner Harbor and that area has seen better days. The shopping is similar to "any mall USA" and the restaurants are lousy. Skip the Inner Harbor all together and stay your whole trip in Fells Point--you won't be dissappointed.
