I stayed here for a convention, and thus paid even more than their going rate. No continental breakfast is provided, not even even cheap donuts and stale coffee; the "computer center" is cramped, smelly, and not adequate for business hotel. Worst of all, the hotel is undergoing heavy remodeling of the lower levels (up to the 13th floor). We stayed on the 14th floor, and were awakened early Friday morning by jackhammering that continued all Friday and Saturday. I normally take a short afternoon nap during conventions, but the jackhammering made that impossible. When I contacted the front desk, their response was to inform me of the "hospitality suite" on the main floor--with glaring lights, a pitcher of water, and stacking chairs--not much of a consolation. One of my colleagues protested vigorously over these accommodations, and they promised to charge us their going rate for one of the nights, but this discount was not applied to the final bill when we checked out early on Sunday.
If you must be near the convention center, stay at the Double Tree instead--they at least have an airport shuttle and breakfast.

This is my complaint on what i sent to the Hyatt upon my arrival back home...as i am not one to make a public scene i am pretty easy going as you will see with the following....
Upon arrival in suite 607 we were satisfied with our accomodations. (The layout is great with the couch and the TV) However, at 2:30am after seeing the sights and playing at the Casino we had second thoughts. We booked the room as three adults and were going to use the pull-out couch for the third, when doing so we were greeted with ladies stockings, a packet of pepper, and what appeared to be pubic hairs and stains on the sheets that covered the mattress. We notified Matt at the front desk who gave us the option of changing rooms or changing the sheets....we opted for changing the sheets as we didnt want to pack up and move at 2:30 in the morning and what would another room greet us with...Matt accomodated us by coming up to the room to change the sheets, but we couldn't get over the fact that the pull out couch was not checked by the maids for past visitors discards. Two of us doubled up in the bed. We were told that we would get a discounted rate for the night and upon check out did not. I did not make a fuss at the time because I didnt want to cause a fuss to end my holiday with a family reuinion.
We had another reservation for Saturday, one adult and two children, room 306 I believe, upon arrival the room was satisfactory until wanting to use the bathroom. The bathroom was flooded and the toilet was cracked and unuseable. The option of relocating to a different room was taken (I believe room 308) and the promise of a discounted rate was stated, but not shown upon checkout. Again I didnt want to make a fuss because we were having a nice family holiday.
We used the pool on Saturday. I was disapointed that only one of the five tables had an actual table top sitting on it, the four other tables were useless. When requesting an umbrella we were told that there were none, and after night swimming that same evening with the pool lights not working, we walked by a room with a window marked "staff only" , we saw the umbrellas stacked on the floor. Why would you not take out the unusable tables and put the umbrella on the only usable table by the pool area? Some people need shade for health reasons and well lets just say 3 of us got a nice sunburn for wanting to hang out with the children who were swimming.
We also came to the conclusion that airline staff and over nighters got the best rooms 1st and 2nd floors. My first greeting on the 3rd floor (to greet my sister) was that of the aroma of marijuana smoke and riff raff local guests. It was apparant that floors 3 and above are not highly regarded in cleaning even if you are staying for 3 nights, at least that is how I felt.
Now I am home and demand my discount for the inconvenience of both rooms! I will alert my AMEX to hold my charge until this is settled.
Thank you!
DM
There are so many other factors on our stay at this hotel....most were ok at best...the pull out comfortable couch that is advertised is kinda creepy....I suppose if you fold it up before the maids get there they assume that it wasnt used when they come to clean your room....
The continental breakfast was nice too, and they have endless apples for the taking....literally...grab an apple and go! The internet cafe was nice too....two computers ready for action connected to a printer free of charge....I just want my promissed discount at this time....we shall see! I would rank this hotel as hit and miss.

Okay
I booked my stay 3 months in advance with a non-smoking room. When I check in they put me in a smoking room the first night (they didn't have any non-smoking rooms that night) and moved me after that for the rest of my stay. All of my stuff smelt...
The only good service we received was from the concierge. For the cost of staying, service shouldn't be an issue. We never received caffeinated coffee from the maid after the 1st day. Getting the front desk to respond was frustrating and on the...

Didn't get our wake up call, maid didn't leave caffeinated in room coffee. Maid took tip without cleaning our room. Complaints weren't handled by the front desk in a polite, timely, or apologetic manner. We weren't asked if we needed help with our baggage. Our good experience was only with the helpful concierge.
I stayed here for the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair in May 07.
I can't say this is the best hotel I have stayed in. For a Hyatt Regency, I suppose I expected more and was disappointed with a few things, among...

We had to change our room due to solvent vapors from the floor above us. They were laying new carpet on the floor above us and the vapors permeated down into our room through the vents.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque.
I might recommend it to friends.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Hyatt in Albuquerque. The room was large with a sublimely comfortable bed. The staff were courtous and helpful and were always eager to offer a restaurant recommendation or travel directions. I ate one night at ...
