Hyatt Place Independence

I travel a lot for business and pleasure. This is about as good as it gets. Remember this is not a Hyatt. It's competiton is Marriott Courtyard.It is better than any Courtyard I have stayed in and I like Courtyards. I would stay at the hotel for a vacation as long as I had a car.

The rooms were big and very clean. Would have been nice to have a bigger selection for breakfast.

Location was good. There were a few restaurants at walking distance.

Asked for a cab the night before I left and the following morning, nobody knew anything about a cab for that morning. A little frustrating.

The staff seemed very new, I asked to borrow a wireless device and it took the staff ten minutes to figure out what their policy was and to find a device (standard Hyatt policy let's you borrow one, and every other hyatt I've stayed at it hasn't been a problem). I believe this was a training issue though.

The hotel itself is new. The rooms were just renovated, the bed was great, huge plasma TV, and compared to other hotels, it's a huge room. The free breakfast was adequate, and the pay-to-go food was well prepared and priced. the location is a bit far from the highway, and there is nothing within walking distance really as there were no sidewalks.

This is a great facility and great value, too.

This hotel made me feel secure: It was well lit and security people were in view.
