34 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business
After my company's travel agent couldn't find another hotel close to the training facilities on 635 and the tollway, I decided to go ahead and stay here for 161/night. After arriving the lobby was in putrid shape as construction was going on. I tried to look past that, but when you're doing a massive rennovation like that, close down and reopen. I went on to the elevators which barely worked and was in need of cosmetic repair as well as some electrical patches. I got on fearing for my life, but was tired and not interested in dealing with another hotel at 2AM. Opening the room door I had one thought at first sight of the room... "this was a really nice room 30 years ago". The large high-def flat screen was nice, but I didn't come here for TV. The internet didn't work (wireless) in my room, but luckily I was able to leech some off the amerisuites across the way. The one positive about the room was that it was spacious. The room was clean and as I've stated was a very nice room about 30 years ago. I stayed the night and went to get on the elevator the next morning and the down button didn't work. I had to push the up button ride to the top and back down. All in all, they need to close until remodels are finished. For dining, the continental breakfast was about the same as it is at the Hampton Inns (which are about 1/2 the price). The dining room was in the process of being remodelled also so breakfast was served in a meeting room.
I'd highly suggest staying away from this... maybe even after the remodels are complete. I was booked for 5 nights. I checked out the next day and booked into the Wyndham for $40/night LESS and was a GREAT hotel. Please look elsewhere!
