Hyatt Place Birmingham Inverness

The hotel was sparkling clean and convenient to business, shopping, and dining. Rooms were well decorated, clean, and modern. All would have been great if it wasn't for the nightmare shuttle service!!!! The procedure for scheduling the shuttle was always confusing as every hotel staff memeber gave a different version of how to go about arranging services. (even management!) No employee at the hotel could agree on how it was to be scheduled. It was typically late and at times just never showed up. It left us stranded on our arrival to the Birmingham airport for over 2 hours even though we called the hotel from the airport four times. We finally gave up and took a taxi. If you have or rent a car, this is a great place to stay. If you plan to rely on the shuttle service, stay anywhere else!!!

My 3-year-old son and I enjoyed our stop-over at Hyatt Place during 2/2008. The room was a refreshing change of pace from the usual hotel motifs of pastel, floral bedspreads and cheesy Monet prints. Everything in the room was new and well-made, from the sectional sofa to the granite counter tops in the wet bar area and bathroom. Sorry the Clampett's didn't enjoy their stay, but I would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates a more modern design in hotel rooms. The large, HD, flat-screen TV was also a plus. The room was large enough for my son to play with his paper airplanes. The continental breakfast was civilized (not a messy free-for-all).

Adjacent room had guest party that stayed up all night, with loud noise from room and in hallway. Hotel staff was unwilling to initiate security or communication to this guest party, although they stated that multiple guests were complaining. No sleep, concern over security: not a great place to stay.

No wireless internet in room, although it is advertised. Staff offered an adapter, but it is too slow to pick up my company secure site.

I'm disappointed, because I enjoy the furniture, TV, room design, location.

When you come to a hotel you suppose to have the convenience of home, especially when you are paying a $100 a night and more. The room was nice, but my family is staying for a week and there is no microwave to heat my food up (left overs), its backwards to have a refrigerator to put your leftovers in and you have to put on some clothes go down stairs to the kitchen and give your food to the staff and they warm it up for you. I also, have to kids I want to wash my clothes at the end of the week, but hold up, they don't have a washer/dryer for you to wash anything, you again have to give the staff you dirty clothes to wash and them an ungodly amount to do it. Listen, everybody is not lazy to where they want people to wait on them hand and foot. Here again, no telephone books in the hotel, you have to call down stairs to the attendant for a number. I like the bed , the tv, and the set up but this hotel is missing a lot. I will not tell anyone at the southern nuclear company to stay at this hotel for any reason. As I type they are running new cable and the television is not working in this $120.00 a night hotel. I will never, ever stay here again.
