My girlfriend and I were really dissapointed. Our room wasnt ready on time, the couch in our room was stained, unfinished construction in the bathroom, poor air-conditioning, the bill being wrong, and to top it all off, Valet put a dent in my car an

We travel a lot to great places world wide. The Huntley room was small, we arrived at 2:30 and had to wait an hour for our room. I believe through Perfect Escapes/Amex we were to have an upgrade...

I stayed there for 1 week. I had to move 4 times while there due to noise. I asked to be discounted for my stay and the front desk told me they would take care of it and did not. They charged me for something I did not use after I checked out and weekend evenings is a zoo for the elevator!
When I told my credit card that I was only going to pay a certain amount since they did not credit me what I felt was fair I got a call from headquarters telling me that they will still charge me what they wanted.
The quality was not a 4 star rating in my book...and I travel quite a bit!
It's beautiful building and in a great neighborhood though the staff was not helpful and not very willing to make a wrong into a right. I was not demanding. I wanted to relax and enjoy my vacation and unfortunately it was not relaxing or enjoyable.
I hope they iron out things and sound proof the place better! Cause it can be a great hotel when it grows up a bit.

The Huntley in Santa Monica is very convenient to all that the city has to offer. But, the hotel is so poorly managed and the adage about location being everything does not count when it comes to this property. One gets the impression that management looks at guest services and amenities as a bothersome cost that interferes with the real business of increasing revenues. Want a cup of coffee before your morning walk or jog? Wait on line at the kiosk and pay for it. Want your room clean and hospitable? Try to sleep in a room that was prepared without appropriate supervision much less a caring attitude. Speaking of sleeping, bring ear plugs because the walls are so thin you hear every sound in the adjacent, above and below rooms.
There are much better places to stay (at more reasonable prices) in Santa Monica.

I had a nice room, except it was across from the elevator and I could hear it going up and down all night long. The front desk manager said they were aware of the problem but they were full, so tough luck for me. They did suggest requesting a room away from the elevator next time.
