Something's wrong at this hotel

42 year old man with a moderate budget
I had a suite alone here for 3 wks. I made mention to the staff that someone had moved items of mine and they were to investigate. 2 days later my room was burgled, they took everything off the hangers, all my clothes, new sports shoes, dvds, cds, and gifts from Disney etc- my room had NOT been broken into, therefore someone used a key.there was a camera outside my room and the electronic keys should make notes in the main computer system every time my door was opened so you would have thought it easy to catch the robber.
The manager was far from helpful, and when pushed, he stated he would investigate the film and hotel computer system. In fact the manager was bordering rude when I suggested that it may have been staff, certainly someone with access to a key, I hasten to add I was NOT the only person who was burgled that day.
I was told if my belongings were not in the safe it was hard luck. Travel insurance would not assist as a key had been used. I asked if it were reasonable to expect clothing to still be on hangers when a client returns from a day out, the managers response was no, if it is not in the safe he didn't want to know.
The hotel also put a charge onto my credit card AFTER I left- I have proof from American express where they attempted to contact the manager to explain this, of course he was never available for comment and would not return their, or my calls regarding the investigation.
My opinion? there is something really wrong here, even the hotel chain did not wish to assist returning me to the manager, who of course would not take my calls.
I lost over £1000 worth of clothing, shoes and gifts that day and I expected better from an American chain hotel, stay clear of this hotel and of the manager as I believe he is going to work for Sheradan World [he reported this] and if Sheradan World is reading this, please feel free to contact me, this place concerns me greatly!
