Howard Johnson Inn at Six Flags Motel

When you write a review for a hotel, you have to consider what you were looking for.

We wanted a hotel within walking distance of Six Flags Over Georgia. Our requirements were good rates, clean rooms, a pool to use in the off-time. We read the previous reviews, but the rate was significantly lower than the neighbors, so we took a chance.

We were met with an extremely friendly and helpful staff - who allowed us to check-in earlier than we were supposed to and even helped us with our luggage -who kept the rooms clean and in working order - who cleaned the pool both of the days we were there. The room wasn't brand new, but the beds were good, the bathroom was clean and working, we had a mini-fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer and a microwave in the room and thankfully, the a/c kept us ice-cold.

Important to us: The pool was open later than Six Flags so the kids could cool off prior to bed and earlier than check-out so they could swim before we left.

If you want to stay in the newest rooms, then pay the extra $40plus/night and go to the neighboring hotels, but if you just want a nice clean place to stay that's within easy walking distance of the park, this was the right choice for us.

I rarely give poor feedback on anything, but this time I have to let your company know that Ive stayed in the most terrible hotel ever! The carpeting in our room had a melted imprint of an iron on it, we had several creaky floor boards, the comforters,sheets, and towels, were stained and thread barren! We couldnt believe we were in a hotel! We decided to give the hotel a try because we were so tired from traveling, and felt that with the free wifi, and breakfast, things would be o.k. Boy were we wrong!! The hotel did not have free wifi, and when my husband went down to get breakfast, he was handed a bowl of cereal from a woman who worked there. Thats right she fetched him a bowl of dry cereal from some unknown area from a back room!! No choices for breakfast, just a bowl handed to him! (no milk included)

It's cheap, but not in a real good location. It's close to Six Flags, though.

There must have been a shortage of towels that weekend.

Horrible service, disgusting rooms, was treated very poorly by staff, when they made a mistake, by giving away my room.
