Not the best – Posted Jun 25, 2009

The price was outrageous for the quality of the hotel. The pool only allowed 25 kids in at a time even though there were signs posted everywhere saying there was no lifeguard on duty, there was someone that yelled at every child that tried to walk from the pool to the chairs. It was ridculous.

Great employees, but dirty hotel and... – Posted Jun 23, 2009

I loved the front desk staff. They were very helpful and very nice. THAT is the only nice thing about this hotel.

The rooms were absolutely filthy and and we had a black stain in our bathtub and the floors of the bathroom were noticeably dirty and the room smelled of smoke really bad. The bathroom had a crack in the ceiling that was an indication of poor maintenance. For the price we paid ($120.00/night), was over-priced. I know it was prime time to be there during the CWS, but this hotel REALLY needs to cut back the price on their rooms or do some major updating to accomodate the price. We requested a rollaway and at check out, the girl said she had to charge me $15.00 for it. A price was NEVER mentioned when I requested a rollaway. I used to be in the hotel business and I never put a charge on rollaways unless I said I was going to when the customer requested it. THIS needs to be stated before saying you can deliver a rollaway! All in all, my family will never stay at this hotel again until they clean it! The indoor pool was nice and the employees, BUT THAT WAS IT! Do not stay here unless you don't mind expensive dirty rooms!

Horrible
37 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

1. Our A/C was out and it could not be fixed so it was hot in our room every night and my family had trouble sleeping. I only got a $30 credit for the inconvenience.

2. I booked a non-smoking room but was not able to get one. The fault may have been with Triple Crown Sports but I think all hotels should be non-smoking! What a liability! I usually stay at hotels that have this policy but our team picked Howard Johnson. I had to buy a Glad Plug-In and Frebreeze to try to rid my room of the smell (did not work).

3. Room was dirty and outdated. I think Motel 6 and Super 8 motels are better than this Howard Johnson. Tub was cracked, Bathroom door looked like it was about to fall apart, toilet paper holder was bent and very rusty, matress and curtains had cigarette burns on it and the walls were stained and nasty.

Good

Considering the time of year (during the CWS) the price was reasonable and was a nice stay, close to all the events and overall pleasant.

Horrible

Reserved room non-smoking room 2 months in advance for baseball tournament. Arrived at 3:00pm check in (not late)...was told non-smoking rooms unavailiable. Real bad! Carpet was filthy. My feet turned black from walking on it. Gum stuck in carpeting and stained. Smoking rooms are disqusting. Staff showed up at 8am to clean room on day of my check out....huh? Hotel was very smelly, pool water was bad. Go somewhere else.

Okay
42 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The room was fine and the people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. It was too bad that a group from the previous weekend had vandalized the pool area. As a result, we paid the price by having limited pool access and a pool guard who was very much a policeman.

Okay

We had a nice time in Omaha playing Baseball but we had some issues with your Hotel. We had many families that brought Younger kids and were looking forward to swimming on the Hot Steamy days. With the Pool Hours not opening until 2:00 pm, the families got very little swimming in and were really disappointed.

There were also many complaints from the parents that the guy watching the pool area was really unfriendly and quite rude.

I guess there was some rowdy Guest as well over the weekend, but those of us that conduct ourselves in a professional manor should not have to be treated poorly. ie. running a vacume Cleaner at 5AM

My only other suggestion would be the Breakfast area, didn’t open until 7:00 on Saturday and Sunday. Many of us had to be going before that time. It would be nice if it was open at the same time as during the week. 6:00am

We are planning our trip for next summer’s baseball tournament already and the parents of our team have requested we not come back to your Hotel.

The hotel was adequate! – Posted Jun 22, 2009

I think the hotel needs updating. Our smoke alarm needed it's battery changed. Our door handle to our bathroom was falling off. We had a smoke free room, but I think people were smoking everywhere in the hotel b/c we could smell the smoke in our room. Our room smelled horrible of smoke.

I do think the people who cleaned the room did a nice job. From what I saw, most of the rooms had so many things on the ground and the rooms were so messy that I can't imagine those people being able to do there job.

Overall, the hotel needs to be updated!

Omaha's HoJo Seen Better Years – Posted Jun 22, 2009

Seen it's better years. IT IS on I-80 and only a ten minute drive to "the blatt" for the CWS. Book a room here only if you can't find a better hotel. Owner needs to do a major remodel, or implode the beast. Did I mention the old hotel smell? It kind of stays with you. Whew!

I am not likely to return to the Howard Johnson Inn Omaha.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Way over priced for the condition and age of the hotel. I have stayed in Motel 6's that were 3 times better shape and about $100.00 per night cheaper then what this hotel cost.

On fourth floor and elevator didn't work and ice machine was worthless.
