While the location of this hotel is so great, you could hit Fenway with a poorly thrown stone, that I would even consider staying again after a game, it smells so bad! When I got home, I had to leave all of my clothes in the laundry room so they wouldn't bring the funk into the rest of the house. The windows only open an inch, and the air was so thick with stale smoke that we had to buy a fan at the right aid next door which made sleeping in the uncomfortable bed just tolerable. And I'm a smoker! Really friendly staff though, and super fast check in check out.

Okay
Across the street from Fenway Park.Housekeeping staff do not speak English.“Arriving to the room there was a used washcloth and soap still in the bathroom, notified front desk, nothing was done that night to clean. Housekeeping entered our room 3...
This Howard Johnson is in a slightly seedy area of town, but if you want to be right next to Fenway Park, you can't get any closer! However, the folks in the bleachers really do sound like they're just outside your window, because they basically are. The furniture in the lobby was looking a little tired. The hotel has a pool, which is a nice amenity for Boston summers. There is a Chinese restaurant incorporated in the building, as well as a few other options nearby. Within walking distance of buses and T lines.

27 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
Pros:
1. The staff was very helpful. We arrived in the morning and check in wasn't until 4pm. They were able to get us into a room within an hour.
2. Proximity to BU
Cons:
1. Heating/cooling system. Apparently guests do not have control over the temperature of their rooms. There was no forced air coming into the room. I went over and pushed the temperature knob until air started coming out...it was hot air (the heat was coming on at 80F). I went and asked if there was air conditioning and was told they hadn't turned it on yet (May 18). So I had to stay in a stuffy, airless room.
2. Walls: The walls were paper thin. I woke up 4-5 times in the night with every little sound that I heard. I could hear doors closing, toilets flushing above me, the police pounding on a door yelling "Open up, it's the police!" That's a great way to be woken up at 2am in the morning...
3. Beds: the mattress is awful, very hard and lumpy
