Horrible

Didn't clean our room the first day. We went to make coffee and there was coffee grounds and mold in the coffee pot. Ashes in the dresser drawer. Rude manager. Very nice girls that worked there.

Mediocre

After being a long time resident of Burlington for almost 50 years, but recently relocated out of state, I was looking for a nice motel with a nice pool area where all the family could see one another and with activities for the grandkids. After...

Howard Johnson by far is the best in ... – Posted Sep 13, 2007

Excellent
41 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This Hotel is by far southeast Iowa's most elegant hotel. The interior takes the ambience of the french quarter and has a great pool and hot tub. If you really want to have a relaxing stay in burlington I suggest this hotel. Also it was great for my family and friends to spend less money and to walk right out of the back door and into the new casino. The people are very friendly they make you feel right at home and if you need any assistance at all they are all there at your front step to help you. By the way the cappucino and hot waffles in the morning were awesome, I think every hotel should have this. Keep up the great work.

This place-never again!! Checked in, given a room that wasn't even cleaned or made up from last occupant(this was after 3PM), sent to another room, key cards didn't work in door, had to be recoded, room damp, water stained ceilings, musty-no luggage ...

Good

My family and I had fun here. The adults liked to Tiki Bar. The kids liked the pool and hottub. The staff was friendly and helpful. They gave us lots of pillows and extra blankets so the kids could make "tents". The free breakfast...

Excellent
35 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

This is clearly an older property, which is both good and bad. The exterior needs updating, but the interior is amazing. The rooms are terrific. The lobby and the pool court are all terrific. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This is an all around great hotel.

The fitness center is downright amazing for a hotel!

Being next door to all the construction – Posted Mar 17, 2007

Excellent

Being next door to all the construction of the new casino/resort seems to have worn off on this place. Outside appearance still needs work, but the detail on the inside is terrific, bright, colorful, comfortable and plush.
