On busy highway. Carpet was stained, telephone was covered with gunk, towels were thin and cheap. Entry way was near construction and VERY poorly marked. Staff was unfriendly.
I am not likely
to return to the Howard Johnson Inn - Durham.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Horrible
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I every had. Facilities were insect infested and furniture and amenities were not well kept. My room was relocated 3 times and they refused to give a refund for horrendous conditions.

"I have always enjoyed staying at Howard Johnson's. This motel, however, is awful. It should be removed from the HoJo system. It is worst than bad...dirty, poorly staffed and equiped. This motel demonstrates what has happened to hotel chains...
