Good
Traveling with a group of 15 in eight rooms. All agreed the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The front desk was courteous. We would be happy to stay here again.
The service, location, and cleanliness of the hotel was great but bed was extremely uncomfortable, it was extremely hard. I will never stay there again. I could not sleep and my back was killing me when I left.
This hotel price matched for my budget and stayed there 2 nights for just sleep. Overall, the hotel was OK for my trip. Hotel provided shuttle services. Few minus things that I experienced:
(1) There is additional $15 parking fee per night...

Good
We stayed for 2 nights from 26-28 Nov 2007. For the price we paid, I don't think the services and room were that bad. Room and bathroom were reasonably spacious. Beds are quite big. And we got the round floor so that's a relief. Restaurant is a bit...

Horrible
Upon arrival at the Howard Johnson Hotel, my friends and I were very excited to finally be at our place of stay. From the moment we walked in, we had the man at the desk look up our reservation, and told us we could come back in one hour and we...

You get what you pay for. The front desk was not exactly friendly or helpful. I was thankful i did not need any of their assistance aside from checking in and out. The shuttle to and from the airport was on schedule and helpful. Their on-site food...

Mediocre
Almost impossible to find! It's on a dead-end service road. $15/day for parking that was not mentioned at booking! Desk staff not friendly. Clean rooms.
40 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Very good for the price paid. The hotel was really good. It is very close to I-78 making commutation to New-York easy. Though not very close to New-York as stated, the delays are rather because of traffic. Overall the hotel is very good for the price and beds also are very comfortable and rooms are clean.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Howard Johnson Hotel - Newark.
I might recommend it to friends.

Good
This hotel is around 20 minutes from New York (via NJ Path train). On the first day, we didn't get the room service but after reporting to the front desk they took care of it on the second day. Local and toll-free calls are free but they want your...

Okay
I didn't expect much; I was looking for a cheap place near Newark airport to arrive late, check my email, sleep, shower and leave early. And I got all that. Free shuttle to/from the airport leaves the hotel on the half-hour. If that's all you want,...
