Guests Beware! Hotel is rundown and filthy. Rooms are moldy. Hotel Fire Alarm system malfunctioned 4 times within 24 hour period. Screeching ear piercing alarm (requiring fire department and police to deactivate) went off 8 am, 2 pm, 12:45 am and 1:30 am. I confirmed w/ emergency workers that it was the hotel's alarm that was faulty. Rooms had to be evacuated each time and parents stood in front of the hotel with crying babies in the middle of the night! Hardly a relaxing, restful vacation. Both day and night management were notified by numerous guests who requested compensation. When I asked if we would be compensated the manager told me "No". When I told him that I couldn't believe he wasn't going to apologize or explain, his reply was "you didn't ask for an explanation". The most unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. Uncaring, rude, unfriendly. I currently have a complaint filed with Howard Johnson's.

The view! The staff was very friendly.A little dated. It was a nice family experience. The restaurant was a little small but the help made up for that. But what can be bad waking up looking out over the Ocean.

The hotel was on boardwalk, close to all places we wanted to go. It was clean and well maintained. It has a friendly staff. The parking lot was hard to use as it was very crowded.

The cleanliness and friendliness of the staff were tops. The Satellite cafe is almost worth the price of admission, they had great food and service!
However, three of us girls had an oceanfront "suite" 503, on the top floor. The cleanliness and furnishings were fine, except for the bathroom. It was miniscule, with a joke pedestal sink that wasn't more than 10 inches across and splashed your feet when you were brushing your teeth. You had to crane your neck to one side so you didn't spit out on the faucet, it was so cramped. In addition, and we were three women, remember, there is no counter space in the bath! Only a tiny, sloping glass shelf which everything slides down from! I have seen much larger bathrooms on very small boats. This is a renovated room? What were they thinking?
Also, this "premier" suite has no closet, just a rack against the wall. And no stove or range top, either. I would not stay here again if I were forced to deal with the same type of bathroom, especially not with two other women and all our toiletries. Also, there wasn't even a hook on the back of the bathroom door to hang your robe on, you basically had to put everything you brought into the bathroom onto the closed toilet. Jeez!
