This seemed to be a one-man operation, and there's a question concerning the cleanliness of the room and the sheets.

The room was extremely dirty. Walking in stockinged feet was impossible. The chlorine smell from the pool area was very strong; it caused tearing and nasal stuffing. The staff seemed to be rather casual about any complaints. Complaints to Howard Johnson were met with 'it's a franchise. It's' the last time we will stay in a HoJo, even if we have to sleep in the car.

The room and bedding did not seem particularly clean and the place seemed dreary. Others must have felt the same as few were staying there. They are expensive for the accommodations.
