Mediocre
I only stayed 1 night, fortunately! The key was a pain to work. 2 out of 6 lights worked and they were very dim. There were stains on the bed spread. And the fan in the restroom made a loud squeeking noise.
59 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The room was extremely dirty. Walking in stockinged feet was impossible. The chlorine smell from the pool area was very strong; it caused tearing and nasal stuffing. The staff seemed to be rather casual about any complaints. Complaints to Howard Johnson were met with 'it's a franchise. It's' the last time we will stay in a HoJo, even if we have to sleep in the car.
I am not likely
to return to the Howard Johnson Express.
I would not recommend it to friends.
