Howard Johnson Branson Hotel

Howard Johnson's website states they offer free high speed internet access in every room. This is a joke. If you are lucky enough to have a room very close to the lobby you might get a very week signal at best.

As soon as we arrived and I set up my laptop, I was not able to pick up a signal. When I called the front desk to inquire about the internet access; I was told there was wireless access in the lobby. This really defeats the whole purpose of selecting a hotel because of wireless access in every room. Using an external wifi antenna, I was finally able to pick up a weak signal that disconnects every few seconds. I hope I stay connected long enough to finish this review.

Just a tip, I have stayed in Branson, MO many, many times at hotels every bit at nice as this one for about half the price. This was a short notice trip and Howard Johnsons was the only one with rooms available which took pets and had high speed internet access. I could have saved a lot of money and booked another hotel that did not claim to have internet access since this one really doesn't.

I guess all a hotel has to do to advertise internet access is to have an access point somewhere even if the chance of connecting to it is slim and none.

The poor location is hard to get to but every thing in Branson is.

The hotel was located in an area where most of the shows and craft shops were located. We were well satisfied with our accommodations.
