I was extremely disappointed and disgusted with the room. disgusted dirty bad room ...carpet with animals insects jacuzzi messy and Greasy with hears last costumer That I stayed in it would be room 303. No way should any traveler expect to have to stay in such a filthy place while paying what amounted to full rate. I could not change places to stay because of the unavailability at other hotels so I had to endure, stained carpeting, a filthy& gross, bathroom, and urine smell throughout the room.and pool what they open 12 o clock then you mus to wait for this time then you can swim in dirty pool this is pain is ...head disgusted never again god help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Room was smaller than a broom closet! Rooms were very very dirty, found garbage in the nightstand drawers. Guess the cleaning people missed it. Bed very lumpy with feather pillows about 30 years old.

I really liked it...

* Staff was really helpful and Friendly !!! Thats the major plus.. we had to postpone our booking twice and they did it without any extra charges.

They helped us with maps and additional information which saved at least $30 for us.

* Dunkin and other restaurants are near by.

* Room were clean and pleasant. TV in each room.

* There is shuttle which goes to Niagara falls.

* I liked it because I got the room for cheap and it was worth that money.

Disadvantage:

* Extra charge for Microwave and Fridge.

* No free Breakfast

I was extremely disappointed and disgusted with the room. That I stayed in it would be room 110. No way should any traveler expect to have to stay in such a filthy place while paying what amounted to full rate. I could not change places to stay because of the unavailability at other hotels so I had to endure, stained carpeting, a filthy& gross, bathroom, and urine smell throughout the room. A TV that got terrible reception. An air-conditioning unit that look as if it was 50 years old, the vents were covered with dust, and had a terrible mold smell coming from it. The bathroom tiles were old, and had plenty of mildew on the floor as well as the shower curtains and walls.

Howard Johnson’s should be ashamed of themselves for even to offer this as a place to rent to anyone. I have pictures to prove how terribly gross it was, unfortunately there was no way for me to bottle up the smells that inhabited the room.

I was unhappy with the location. There were no amenities, such as a restaurant or bar.

Beware of this awful overpriced dive! Go elsewhere, anywhere but here. This places smells, dirt everywhere. old & tattered blankets, sandpaper towels. Sinks & bathroom falling apart.

Two pluses: suprisingly large room, which was great, and walking distance to a restaurant (Bob Evans), located just across the parking lot.

Some issues that would cause me to cross this hotel off my list next time are:

- the bathroom tissue was not easy to find (called the front desk and they immediately said to check under the counter...makes you wonder if other people have called about it and whether they could remedy the location of the tissue holder).

- apparently there was free internet, but we couldn't get a connection through the hotel

- hotel is showing its age; the glass shower door and shower handles squeaked very loudly. There were dirty grout lines where the tub meets the wall, in the tub drain and around the shower handles.

- the wall switches to control the lights didn't work, although the lamps themselves worked

My biggest problem was during checkout. When checking in, they had me initial the automatic fee for a safe in the room and the understanding that I could request the fee to be removed at checkout. However, when I received the invoice during checkout in the lobby and noticed the fee, I asked to have it removed and they said it was to be asked during checkout. Seems to be a terminology difference. They apparently mean to ask for the safe fee to be removed BEFORE your credit card gets charged.

It's fine if there's a safe fee; it was only $1.50. What upsets me is that when I specifically asked for them to remove it (which they have in writing that I could at checkout), they did not. Other hotels will allow you to review the invoice and will remove a charge if you dispute it. The front desk staff at this Howard Johnson did not make any attempt to do so. I'm disappointed in the service, and will not be staying here again.

I stayed in this hotel on Black Friday as it was the only one available, and now I know why! Our room was definitely aged, I felt like I was living in the 70's again. Our bathroom was dirty, there was even someone's hair in the tub and on the toilet ...
