This hotel is situated in the middle of the city, on a narrow street in a long line of other hotels. We did not expect a view, and were surprised by the sight of the nearby Duomo from our balcony, along with an interesting courtyard.
The hotel was a little more "budget" than we'd imagined when we booked it - we were thinking "boutique." The air conditioning was not working and it had more of a youth hostel feel. There were school groups there as well. Still, the room was very large with ample storage.
I would recommend this hotel for students on a budget. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental and the common areas were tastefully decorated.
Many restaurants and shops are within steps of the hotel. It is also very close to Firenze Centrale, the train station. If you are dragging wheeled luggage be aware that there are cobblestone streets, very narrow, crowded sidewalks and some streets may be under construction. You can easily walk it, but if you're at all tired from traveling, it might be easier to hail a cab.
We stayed here for 2 nights in May, 2008. The website is www.kursonia.com
