Ideal location, right downtown walking distance to tons of restos. almost no need for a car. The hotel itself definitely has that wow effect, with great architecture, nice lobby, fun pool with a DJ. The rooms are the biggest I has seen, with a hug

37 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business
Very W-esque amenities make this hotel in the middle of downtown Palm Springs a hip place to stay and calm relaxed nerves. It's in walking distance to all the shops and restaurants downtown, and the airport is about a 7 minute drive away.
The room was painted in warm dark colors (cocoa, burgundy) and everything appeared relatively new. They had Aveda bathroom products, Seattle's Finest Coffee packs for the French press, an Aeron office chair, two Tazo Green Tea bags, chocolate with your bed turn-down service, and two complimentary bottles of water set the mood off right for relaxation or focused work, whichever you prefer.
The huge flat screen HDTV was impressive, but there weren't that many cable / digital TV channels to watch.
The hot tub was nice though for some reason I found myself having to press the "on" button for several minutes in order for the jets to continue without assistance.
The Caesar salad that we had catered for our meeting was delicious, it's served on an edible bed of parmesan crust. The roast beef sandwiches were however, a bit dry.
The service was impeccable.
One weird thing happened to my first room, there was some water stain that started appearing on the ceiling (but it wasn't due to anything detectable on the floor above me). The blow dryer and fancy bathroom scale also weren't working. But due to the water issue, I didn't press the issues with the small details. Everyone was very quick in looking at the water problem and moving me to a nicer suite without any hassles or logistical hiccups, and in the new room, everything worked.
Finally, even though the place seems chi-chi and W-like, all the employees were attitude-free and very friendly and helpful.
pros: Stylish, centrally locatedWhen we arrived the girl at the front desk was making a hair extension appointment for herself. The staff was not professional. The hotel has a nice looking lobby, stylish building, the bed is comfortable and has a...
