Hotel Vitale opened in March of 2005 in an ideal location for business in the financial district and for leisure as it is on the Embarcadero waterfront and across the street from the landmark Ferry Building. The hotel boasts 199 spacious guestrooms and suites, many with spectacular views of the water and Bay Bridge. A full-service luxury hotel offering a spa with outdoor rooftop soaking tubs, a signature restaurant and outdoor cafe, 24 hour room service, outdoor event space and conference space, fitness center, business center and wifi in all guestrooms. Located on the revitalized Embarcadero Waterfront and the Financial District of San Francisco, Hotel Vitale is convenient to those traveling to San Francisco for business or pleasure. Additionally the hotel offers a location directly across from the historic Ferry Building Marketplace, San Francisco??s new gourmet mecca.

I agree with Tex09's review that this is a nice hotel, but the price is a little out of whack. I stayed here recently on business because I love the location. The view from the top floor deck, of the Bay Bridge, is amazing at night. This hotel is also right across the street from a great restaurant called "Boulevard" (not that you'll be able to get a reservation, but you might be able to find a seat at the bar). The hotel bar is a bit of a meat market, but they have a nice outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. I would probably stay here again, but at $400 for a room with a view of the water, and $300 for a view...of nothing - that's tough to swallow when I can stay next door at the Hyatt for half the price.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Hotel Vitale San Francisco.
I might recommend it to friends.
Stayed here with two daughters in tow July 2006. Paid less than half of what it would cost to stay now. Still the same building and amenities. What on earth could justify the increase? Well perhaps people foolish enough to believe the hype. I'm a frequent visitor to S.F. and can assure your readers that there is far better bang for your buck in town elsewhere.
Nice Hotel but won't be back

Okay
The hotel photos made the room look wonderful. I wanted to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday in a big way and chose this hotel based on the photos and the claim of a luxury hotel. When we drove up, I was disappointed by the outside appearance of...

Excellent
We love the Hotel Vitale! Would not want to stay anywhere else. We have stayed twice and cannot wait for the third time. The location is great, the decor and atmosphere sophisticated and the staff knows how to treat their guests. I suggest trying ...

High End in San Francisco. Hotel Vitale is located directly across the street from the Ferry building. It has a very nice restaurant with a fun bar located on the floor level. There are tons of great places to explore only walking distance away. San Franciscos famous Pier 39, Ferry Building, Fishermans Warf, and much much much more. If you are looking for something special, book the circular suite... The view is amazing!
I am very likely
to return to the Hotel Vitale San Francisco.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Boutique goodness in San Francisco. The Hotel Vitale is one of my favorite places to stay when I need to crash in the City for the night. As hip and fresh as youd expect from a San Francisco hotel and located just off the Embarcadero, the hotel offers everything: killer views, great location, fabulous restaurant and room service (Americano is actually one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco, particularly for breakfast or brunch) and beautifully appointed rooms. I was excited by the Fresh brand toiletries in the room because I do actually care about such things, but even cooler was the chaise lounge chair just under the large window, directly overlooking San Francisco Bay and the Bay Bridge. The room was decorated in muted blues, and I was able to connect my laptop and stretch the cord over to the chair to take in the views while I finished up some work. Not a bad setup! The beds are quite comfortable, and the morning delivery of room service is practically an event. They set up the in-room desk like a full-service restaurant, and breakfast never looked more appealing. I didnt take advantage of many of the hotel services (gym, spa) but I did appreciate the valets leaving my car up front while I did some shopping around the hotel and came back to drop off packages in the trunk every hour or so. Valet parking isnt any more expensive than any other hotel in the city, and its easy to get in and out of their valet area. I cant recommend the Hotel Vitale enough. They really did this hotel right.

I stayed for a week and half, and booked a quiet room. They put me in a room next to electrical equipment and the elevator. I kid you not, it rattled and there was a grinding sound every ten minutes. They know about it, so they left a "white noise" machine by the bed. Each floor has such a room. When I complained after two nights, they said I could move, but that "check in as at 3 pm." The new room was noisy, as the hotel is next to the Embarcadero highway.
Their room service is limited and expensive. The rooms are really small and there is almost no storage space. The neighborhood is boring (in the financial district), and there is nothing to do around there on the weekend.
I love SF and have stayed at many other hotels. This hotel is expensive, and you can do much better, with better service and less attitude.
