The Plush Room hosts such artists as Rita Moreno, Patti LuPone, Betty Buckley, Sam Harris, and San Francisco's favorite Paula West. In response to a growing demand for alternatives to crowded dance clubs and underground parties, we are launching Late Night at Empire. On Saturday nights after our 8pm show has delighted the crowd, we will close for one hour and at 10:30pm, we will re-open the doors as Late Night at Empire featuring the Va Va Voom Room. The city's movers and shakers now have an opportunity to not only get gussied up but experience a first class martini / live music club that will resurrect a sadly forgotten era when the finer things in life were appreciated. From our earliest days as a speakeasy, through a supporting role in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, to our central location in America's favorite city, the York Hotel and Empire Plush Room await the opportunity to ensure your visit to San Francisco is an unforgettable experience. The Vertigo was being renovated at the time, and we got a non-renovated room for an excellent price over the web. The room was spacious and clean, the personnel friendly. Fortunately there's no breakfast, because there's lots of excellent breakfast
Great service, best value! Becky

37 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for business
The room was small and dated, but the price was very inexpensive. Imagine going to your grandmas house this is what the room is like. Its clean, but everything is out of date and a little beat up. The bathtub had been refinished at one point, but it was starting to come off. I had no problem as a single guy staying here, but the wife wouldnt have been too happy. The location of the hotel was pretty good. You have lots of things to do within a mile or so. Another note: NO AIR CONDITIONING! (something you dont think about now a days!)
