I use to stay at Hotel Santa Barbara every time I went to SB. I stayed there during my usual trip to the film festival. When I arrived back to my room one evening, I found that the toilet had overflowed. I called the front desk and close to an ho

Horrible
The staff at Hotel Santa Barbara was absolutely horrible. From booking our hotel, throughout the stay, and our check out, they were rude and useless. Our credit cards were overcharged for extra rooms and nights we didn't stay. When attempting to fix ...

This is the worst hotel ever. Firstly the decor is VERY old, and the furniture was decorated in yellow. The rooms are extremely small, and everything creeks.
An incident happened to me whereby I tried to bring guests to my room. The night manager (Greg) said there was a capacity of 4 (we had 5). After much dispute, we left, and later 3 friends needed to use the restroom. He changed his mind and said no one else was aloud. After more arguing, he decides to KICK me out!!!!! Mind you, this is now at around 2:30 a.m., and I have no place to go, despite having already paid an excessive $200/night.
I am a physician, and my first concern is safety. Some of my colleagues needed to drive safely home and wanted to rest, but the hotel did NOT care. Instead they kicked me out....what hotel would ever do that!
The night manager and the hotel does NOT care for your well being...they only care about their own rules

this was the worse place I have stayed in my life EVER!!! the milk during the breakfast was spoiled, we found 7 spiders during our weekend stay (alive), the bed sheets had lipstick stains and the towels were brown and smelled.
We just stayed here for one weekend. The hotel is really cute. A great location - you can walk everywhere from here. But it's still a little tucked away, to give you a little bit of a private feel. Oh, and the rooms immaculate. Don't miss the lobby...

I stayed here with my family for vacation. Although not super cheap, the hotel is centrally located in downtown Santa Barbara. One must drive to get to the beach but all the great restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The room is fairy spacious with nice comfy beds, with very clean and nice bathroom.

The thing that I probably liked best about Hotel Santa Barbara was its location. It is located right in the middle of State Street, which is the "main drag" in the Santa Barbara area. You can walk to everything, shops, restaurants, the beach, etc.
Its a nice hotel but not the best that I have stayed at for sure. The outside of the motel isn't much to look at and you could probably even walk right by it and not notice it. The entry way is quite nice as well as the downstairs lobby area.
I found the rooms to be clean and adequate in size but again nothing too "out of the ordinary". The service was good but not great.
I think overall, this is a nice place to stay if you are heading to Santa Barbara, just based on its location alone.
Its a historic style hotel so it doesnt boast modern or high-tech styling. Worth a stay if you are in town.
