This is an old hotel with a colonial feel. The rooms were large and clean. The rooms near the front can be a bit loud but not bad. It has an on-site restaurant and small bar, which is handy as you probably don't want to be out after dark. There is also a small courtyard if you want to sit out in the sun, with a little pool, although I never saw anyone swim. There is also Internet access, although it can be a bit spotty. Staff were helpful. If you want an experience different from that that you can get at the Radisson or Westin, try this place.
My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel San Carlos twice. It is very clean and the staff is very eager to help and make the stay relaxing. The hotel is located just two blocks from the US Embassy, so it is a nice walk if you have business there. ...
