32 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We chose to stay at this place because it had good reviews and looked like a safe, clean, place with a safe box in the room. I put my wallet with about $100 USD and a 60GB iPod in the safe box and we accidentally left our stuff inside the box when we checked out.
When we realized that I left my things there, we called the hotel immediately and they gave me the run around. They told me, that nobody reported finding anything in the box and only the maid has the safe box key and they sometimes don't look inside the box when they unlock it, so it could have been stolen by another patron.
Then my partner who speaks Spanish, called and they told him another story that the general manager is the only one that has the key and they found the wallet but no iPod and no cash inside. The service on the phone was horrible and they made us call back everyday, even after taking all of our contact information every time we called. Eventually our contact person, the desk manager, refused to speak with us and we were only able to talk to the general manager who is the only one with the key and probably stole all our stuff.
After almost 3 weeks, I finally got my wallet back with nothing in it except my license. I would recommend never, ever staying here. They are thieves and liars!
