Hotel Pan American is located in Guatemala Citys downtown Historic District. This area is home to the classic and the contemporary; the past and the present. The origins of Guatemala Citys Historic Center go back to the foundation of the countrys new capital city in the Valle de la Ermita on January 2-1776. The Historic Center is designed with a Plaza in the center and landmarks at all sides. To the North of the Plaza lies the National Palace of Culture; to the South-the Merchants Portal; to the East-the Metropolitan Cathedral and to the West-the Acoustic Stage. Guatemala Citys Historic Center reflects through its architecture more than two hundred years of existence-combining baroque and neo classic architecture; as well as Renaissance-gothic-romantic-neo colonial-Mudejar-Art Nouveau-Art Deco-modern and contemporary expressions. These characteristics are observed in public buildings-churches-portals-plazas and private homes. Hotel Panamerican is only a block away from the Plaza which makes sight seeing of the most significant tourist attractions very easy and from its facilities-which will transport you to the turn of the XX Century-you can arrange a visit of the entire City or carry out your special event with the warmth and hospitality that we have always been recognized for.

Hotel Pan America is in a good location for a person wanting to spend some time in Guatemala City. The food is great, especially the traditional Guatemala meals. The rooms are nicely decorated with traditional Guatemala rugs and art work. The staff is very helpful and willing to accommodate to the needs of the people. Lack of parking is a problem, but over all its a great hotel, especially for a person on a budget.
Since we have stayed there 6 times that should speak volumes about our experiences. I would give an "excellent" rating on all questions in all categories but I am comparing this hotel to that of hotels located in America(USA). The staff is...

Good
The hotel is in a bit of a rough neighborhood but is secure and very comfortable. I loved the "Old World" atmosphere. The food was great. It is located near a large plaza and Cathedral, which make for great sight seeing.
The food, service, and atmosphere are excellent. Great food, kind and attentive service and great, downtown location. Car parking available. Have stayed there consistently since 2000, recommend it to all.
We love the Pan American and have stayed there each year for more than ten years. The staff is friendly and they make you feel safe and comfortable. We can always count on the Pan American to meet any need that we have and the food is delicious...
