Good location in LES, breakfasts were surprisingly poor, bar busy in the evening but not entirely convincing, staff at reception desk helpful. Oh, and lift wait takes quite long. Room (high,...

Good
23 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

The location of this hotel was perfect for walking around almost everywhere in New York. This was my first trip to the city and on my own, so I wanted to stay at a "nice" hotel. Although the rates are a little high, around $300 a night, I got a corner suite with standard king size bed with an awesome view into the city and lower essex. Came with free continental breakfast, which was not very impressive considering. Room service was pretty good, and it was actually cheaper than going out and eating in the city. I would definitely stay here again, maybe get a room on a higher floor, more $$$. Didn't go to Thor(the club/restaurant downstairs) but it always looked packed and there was even a line there when i was staying at the hotel. If thats not your scene there are several bars within a few blocks radius of the hotel, along with tons of places to eat. OH and the maids also leave these delicious cookies after they clean up your room everyday.

Excellent

The bathroom represents about 50% of the the space in the room, which is great for a romantic trip! The Swedish Tempur-Pedic mattress on the bed was so wonderful, we want to buy one for our house. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the bar...

Hotel Review – – Posted Jun 27, 2006

Excellent
40 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Minimalist chic, nightlife included. Loved the minimalist, but luxuriously comfortable rooms, especially the unique all glass showers which had a soothing, zen, floating-above-the-world quality and the Tempur-pedic mattresses on the beds. Bar and VIP room bar and dance scene were a lot of fun, but this is only for those that love NYC nightlife as close by as the lobby. Also, we really enjoyed the semi-gritty location in the Lower East side, which puts you close to a lot of great coffee shops and indie designer stores, but the neighborhood may be too "transitional" for those used to staying in the more posh parts of the city. The one issue was that at check-in time, our room was not ready, and we noticed other guests having the same problem. Front lobby staff seemed harried and overwhelmed in dealing with this issue.

I am very likely to return to the Hotel On Rivington.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Fantastic stay – Posted May 28, 2007

All around an A+ experience. The room was fabulous, the bed was dream-like comfortable. The bathroom very cool. Floor to ceiling windows give an unobstructed view, since THOR is the only tall building for blocks and blocks. If you're on an...

Hit and Miss; Lots of irritants. – Posted May 05, 2007

Okay

Website and photos exaggerate a bit. "Floor to ceiling windows" includes frosted glass that means you have almost no view from your bed or when sitting down. Look at the photo on their website: notice the view is from WAY ABOVE the bed,...
