Hotel Ocean

The hotel is nice for the price but does not make good on its reservations. We had booked a junior suite which was supposed to have 2 double beds for 3 people and ended up with one king bed. We went to the front desk and asked what happened and was told this was the junior suite. We said we could not all sleep in one bed and was given a rollaway bed which we were assured would not cost extra. When we went to check out we were charged an extra $50/per day for the rollaway because even though we booked for three people Travelocity only charges for two and lets the hotel charge whatever they want for the third person. Plus we asked for the manager and very calmly explained our situation and he basically told us we were lying and his hotel staff would never promise that the rollaway came with no charge. The staff was rude and very unhelpful. You have to walk through the so-so hotel restaurant to get to the main entrance with bus boys doing cat calls and whistling every time you walk though.

Overall the hotel was not at all what we expected and while it is right on Ocean Drive and just across the street from the beach, spend the couple extra dollars to stay at a name hotel.

Great Miami Beach hotel surrounding the heart of all the action and entertainment. Excellent amenities and great customer service!!! A must stay if you are visiting the Miami Beach area.

This was the worst hotel experience. I had roaches in both the bathroom and in the bed. I reported my situation to the front desk and I was told that I shouldn't complain because she was from Brazil and she grew up with roaches and if I wanted to leave to "just go".

I loved it here. I have had some scary situations in South Beach, but this helped redeem it. The hotel itself is simply what you would expect from South Beach and the rooms are very well designed. I loved waking up to the sun, the water and the beach, it started off each day perfectly. Even the bathroom was cheerfully decorated and I was able to soak in the tub and just relax. If you're looking for a great hotel without ending up broke, I definitely recommend you book here.

It's in a great location across from the beach, and it has a nice appearance. Average irons were located at the desk, not in the rooms.
